Android adblocking

Is Blockada botnet? Why does it say connected to VPN even when I only activated the adblock?

Install Gentoo

I'm sure they explain this on their site or wherever you downloaded the app. You just didn't read it.

> using blokada 4 when blokada 3.4 is already good enough for adblocking

Blokada fucked shit up when they tried to push their meme vpn service in blokada 4

Because dns changing on android is retarded. And if you don't have root then you're fucked.
Blockada bypasses this by creating a local VPN service you conect to and changes the dns quarry to the one you soecify in blockada

>dns changing on android is retarded
It's literally the same as on any OS, idiot.

because you can't block ads in host file without root so it probably reroutes your connection through their (((VPN))) where their server removes the ads before sending the page to you, I think opera for phones used to do something similiar

>their VPN
Blokada, DNS66 and NetGuard use a local VPN. You're not connecting to a server, you're connecting to localhost.

>Because dns changing on android is retarded
Excuse me, what?

DNS66 / adguard DNS / Firefox + uBlock Origin
YouTube Vanced / Newpipe
Cracked Spotify APK
Literally anything but the recent versions of ES File Explorer and MX Player
Wow that wasn't so hard wasn't it?

It's for DNS over TLS only, retard.
It literally isn't for Android, even if you have root.

Adguard is the best even if a phone is rooted.
Unless you prefer FOSS.

>Adguard
>free app
>not open source
what is the deal? do they collect and steal data?

Wait, is mxplayer cucked now?

>proprietary adblock
Yeah block those ads and trackers so we can insert our own.

The newer versions are yeah
In the menu and when you pause whatever you're playing unless you pay for the ad-free version
But hey at least stuff like apkmirror are a thing so you can just get the older versions without intrusive ads and they work just fine

>literally isn't for Android
It is in the WiFi connection settings just like it is on any OS.

Hm, I always used cracked version from 4pda and haven't experienced any problems.

>unless you pay
just pirate it

can you redpill me on cracked spotify?

Ah, I've already had the pro version so nbd.

Now try changing DNS for cellular connection since not everyone spends time in the basement 24/7.

this

>using a SIM card
I'm not a fucking retard. And every non-shithole has plenty of open WiFi in cities.

Not him but I just use their dns directly on pie

Huh it seems you can on Pie so long as the DNS server supports TLS and has a hostname.

That's wifi. Try changing dns for your data without root

Ad away never quite blocked everything on my machine, currently testing blockada. So far it's working.
