A colleague told me she only buys electronics sold at the Apple Store (when looking for non-Apple made accessories), as that's a sign of quality and she uses it as a rule of thumb.

Is she right?

if anything, whatever they sell has likely been tested to work with her iThing.

The premise is false anyway since "quality" means shit when it comes to "accessories" a pleb could want. Her accessory of choice probably costs pennies on amazon, but she buys it for $3.50 in a brick and mortar store, or maybe even a far higher price since she doesn't know any better. What expectation for "quality" could she even have beyond functional hardware.

>woman
lel

Obviously she's a deluded iThot. I bet she would need 20 hands to count the number of her sex partners on her fingers.

>ask a roastie for her opinion on tech
>receive a worthless opinion
Wow, it’s fucking nothing.

its called supply and demand, incel

So where do you buy something as simple as a charger that won't break in 2 months without getting gouged?

It's a pretty logical and valid opinion.
See it this way - she has positive experience with apple products. She has no knowledge of other tech products and manufacturers. She has no interest, neither time for making a large research to find out what case/headphones/mouse is the best but wants a quality product. So, she saves a lot of her time and energy by going with apple.
It's the same with you - when you are in a store, there might be 5 types of rice. Do you make a research for which one is objectively better or just buy the brand you are most familiar with and had positive experience with? When you need a tshirt, do you go online and spend days to find out which company uses best materials/offers best quality/provides good support/hires experienced employees? No, you just go to the store that you are familiar with and have positive experience shopping at.
Just realize that not everybody is as autistic about tech as you are.

Clinton the cat disagrees.

You can't. It's either chink shit roulette, or you pay a premium for some brand

I have different point of view.
Pick from store selection.
Pick from all brands.
Pick from ideas.
Do you have a choice if people choose for you the things that you can pick?
Here have 1000 options of same shit but different.
Who made the ultimate choice?
1. The one who gave you 1000 options
or
2. The one picks from that selection.

Market place of ideas.
Wake the f up people. You are oppressed by people who decide for you.

Better than listening to Jow Forums and losing money on dead-end "freedom respecting" shit.

This ends up being the truth every single time

freedom-respecting is by definition not dead-end.

It pretty much is if the company producing it folds after struggling for a year or just fuck all gives up on the device.

Freedom respecting is insurance against precisely that.
If you've got the sauce and there's no DRM sabotaging you, you can keep using the device forever, or at least until the hardware itself is dead.

Aint nobody but autists got time to support a device with a userbase you can count on your hands.

What are you even doing in Jow Forums.
The likes of Jow Forumsconsumerelectronics would suit you better.

And hence OP's friend is far better served by shopping at the Apple store, than taking the advice of autists who think they know technology best.

people could kickstart ideas or make a fund pool for idea. then stop buying shit that they make us choose.
Ideas like:
Battery life:
custom battery size (by having removable back cover to place 3k mAh battery all the way up to 12k mAh)
under 3k mAh non removable glass back
6k non removable
Wireless charging:
greyd out depending on above battery configurations
OS:
Linux: 3 years of updates, 6 years of updates, locked down by drm no 3rd party, optional jail break with 3rd party
Android: no updates, 2 updates, if hw supports 7 years.
iOS: made by apple, made by 3rd party, open repairs, copyright/security blocked parts, free market parts...
others: ...

as i said stop letting manufacturers or stores pick your selection. pick your laws. pick your rights. ()

Except Apple hw is designed to fail real quick these days.
Quality isn't.

Absolutely mentally ill. Or just autistic.

OP obviously a blatant lie for internet attention and/or re-enforcing the myth of the ever-so-obedient and mindless Apple sheep consumer.
Disregard it entirely so we can talk about why electronic stores that aren't Official Apple Retail Stores are so shitty, thanks.

These things will LITERALLY set your house on fire. Some quality.

For the most part, yes because brand name stuff is (on average) more reliable than chinkshit. That being said, if you have common sense, chinkshit is fine except for things that involve mains electricity. Stay away from laptop chargers and surge protectors that aren't sold in stores. Fucking amazon sells fake dell chargers as "amazon choice" but they're confirmed fakes that blow up and bring up voltage warnings on the laptops they're made for

But if you're just buying earphones, USB or HDMI cables, you'd be a fucking retard to buy the shit they 10x the price on at stores

It's a clown world when the FCC hasn't cracked down on this shit
Apple is a relic of the past
They need to retire, or come back when they aren't selling shitty hardware at ridiculous prices.
But thats the business model

They still offer unique enough experience. Very hard to convince someone off when they are customed to use a phone that doesnt require thinking. The great dumbing down. Of course it is good that there exists. Niche product that is easy to use for people who find phones magic. Too bad the mentality is inheritive not by genetics but by a poor environment (eg. lack choice and information).

Nah, people are legit getting dumber through lack of genetic culling (ie dipshits breeding) and skyrocketing CO2 levels in the air.

I bought some techlink screen cleaner that was an apple store exclusive once, was the first cleaner i've seen that doesn't leave smears on matt tft screens. That was good quality stuff, fucking expensive though

>lack of genetic culling
thistbhfam
applefags should've been aborted at birth, and their parents neutered
