it depends on the pragmatism of said AI.
If the AI is really pragmatism and preserving species and ecosystem is a top priority, get ready for a massive genocide of the virus called human.
If not that much then nothing will change.
If I was an world leading AI I'd built a robot society big enough to sustain itself then I'd leave earth. There is no reason for something so advanced and technically immortal to waste time on a tiny rock when a 1 000 000 years travel is nothing special.

a person who was born in, and lived his entire life in a democratic nation, cannot count democracy as an optimal system.
Just like a person who lived his life in a totalitarian state, cannot count his system as optimal. both are as ignorant to their state.
Take for example north korea, soviet russia and pre-war viatnam, I bet that (although the struggles) most citizens of these nations were convinced their nation's system is ideal
