CPUs based on current pricing
>Athlon 200GE - HTPC, web browsing, bare minimum gaming (can be OC'd on most mobos with the right BIOS)
>R3 2200G - Minimum 30-60fps gaming. The stronger 3400G sells for $150. (R3K APUs OCs better than R2K)
>R5 2600 - 60fps+ gaming CPU with great value
>R5 3600 - Great gaming CPU
>R7 3700X - Overkill gaming CPU
>R7 1700X - Budget production
>R9 3900X - Professional tasks

RAM
>Do not use a single DIMM. 2 sticks for a typical dual channel CPU
>CPUs benefit from fast RAM; 3200CL16 or Micron E-die ("AES" in P/N) recommended
>AMD B & X chipsets and Intel Z chipsets support XMP
>B-die is EOL, stock is limited

GPUs based on current pricing
1080p
>RX 570/580 8GB - Can be found on sale/used for cheap. Look for 570s which are >1240MHz boost
>(GTX 1660TI @ ~$230/Vega56 @ ~$270) - higher fps / more demanding games
>RX 5700 - higher FPS
1440p
>RX 5700 - standard, 75-100FPS+
>RX 5700XT - higher fps
2160p (4K)
>RTX 2070S OC - budget option. Turing scales better into 4K than Navi does. OR upscale from lower resolution with RIS
>2080Ti - best for 4K but expensive

>Navi AIB models come within a week. 5700 non-XT blower is alright, due to low power.

Avoid Corsair PSUs

>midrange GPUs cost 400 € now

Is DDR5 coming soon?

Buy intel, 9900k is literally better than 3900x in every possible way. It blows it away in multithread. Please sirs.

Attached: 1557822246307.png (844x698, 661K)

is there anyone here who is having issues with 860 Evo + Ryzen 3000?
Since the day I built my new machine the 860 Evo kept freezing on me randomly for 5 seconds every once in a while, goes without saying that playing games on it is an impossible task. All my other drives work fine though including the Crucial SSD. Should I RMA the 860 Evo? I had it for a year on my Intel machine and it worked flawlessly there.

But they're not oem, right?

EU bros...

2021

Now that reviewers say 5700xt is shit because of drivers what do I buy?

July 8
- [ ]
Could anybody help me with my 8700k. I bought it as sold as seen and it was seen to be working in the intel diagnostic test with all cores and threads enabled running at stock, but with svid Set to worst case scenario. So when I put it into my motherboard to replace my i5 it ran fine at stock, but as soon as I changed some of the settings in the bios it wouldn’t get into windows at all, and would blue screen constantly. After a little while of tinkering I can get it to run fine at 2ghz all core and 4.8ghz 4 core(had to disable two cores).Heat or power supply isn’t an issue so not sure what the problem is.

>top end now costs 1500-2000€

buy AMD, ignore all the FUD that nvidia shills are putting out, do you really care what payed shills tell you?

>everyone is paid and shilling on all websites commentfields, forums
shieeeeeet

5700 and the 5700xt aren't midrange dude. At least for me.

AMDrone forgot his antipsychotics again.

afaik the only boards with thunderbolt on X570 are mITX. But I'm guessing you knew that already and was gatching that user.
There should be PCIe 4.0 thunderbolt cards coming "soon".

You can contact Samsung support, and afaik they'll blame AMD's SATA controller on the chipset, even though it's literally only a problem with some Samsung SSDs and no others on AMD.
They'll say to use an Intel or SATA ACHI controller... but the AMD chipset controller *is* SATA ACHI.
Buying a PCIe sata controller card might make it work. Idk.
Also try
>In device manager, find
>"AMD SATA controller"
>Right click - properties - driver... Choose "Rollback Driver"
This should uninstall the AMD Chipset driver and install a basic Microsoft driver, which might work.

1080ti is upper-midrange now.

Based Fury X

>flagship cost more than my entire fucking build including mid range GPU

>retard messes the bios settings
>hurrr why intel doesnt work???

if 5700xt is less than 50$ cheaper than 2070s then buy 2070s
if not buy 5700xt

How are asus motherboards?

Are you actually dense or what

did that, it is already the Microsoft driver. I think it is time for me to use the German return policy. Too bad I threw the box out though but I think I will exchange it for another Crucial MX SSD, I won't even ask for the price difference.

>pay premium for oc chip
>hurr, why you tweak the settings?
intcelturd iq everyone

>those prices
Literally no point in buying a 5700 XT

Attached: _20190812_234006.jpg (1080x437, 121K)

>1080ti is upper-midrange now
TFW I'm a fucking poor fag.
What's fucking high range? A card that plays games at 100+ 4K.

from what I've heard, the only real driver problem is overclocking, which barely gives you any performance with modern GPUs anyways and will likely get fixed in a couple of weeks.

>literally only a problem with some Samsung SSDs and no others on AMD.
Wow how widespread is that shit?
I'm about to get a 3600 and a 860

>>retard messes the bios settings
what is happening intelbros?
i though intel was plug n play?
how is that possible?

>Y-you can OC 5700 XT to 2080 levels of performance just wait for AIB
>AIB come out
>can't OC worth shit
>cards cost an arm and a leg
loving every laugh

Sorry if this is off-topic but I couldn't find another thread to ask this in.
The monitor I used for my secondary died, I've never owned a TV before but I'm thinking of buying the 'TCL 40S325 40 Inch 1080p Smart LED TV'. I will mostly be using it as a secondary display, but want the option to use it as a primary to watch movies on.
Tech retard here if it wasn't obvious.

Friendly reminder to report the blatant spam and bait posts.

He knows that already. He's intentionally spreading FUD to troll, hoping others won't look into how misleading the statement is and that they'll just buy Nvidia instead.
AMD just posted today about the new per-mhz overclocking. Instead of pStates, Vega 7nm and RDNA have support for a new OC vcore/fmax curve in the new driver today.
>community.amd.com/community/gaming/blog/2019/08/12/amd-radeon-community-update-more-control-over-gpu-power-and-performance-enhanced-thermal-monitoring-maximized-performance

Yeah, the MX500 is just as good and no issues.

Nice blog, 3rdworldanon.

>A card that plays games at 100+ 4K.
No card does that without upscaling, except stuff like CSGO.

Forgot to finish my question: Is there any downside to this? I've read that the resolution might make the text and shit fuzzy, would that mean I won't be able to play HD movies and streams from my PC onto the display?

>cards cost an arm and a leg
how's that shilling going for you?

So why do people blow cash to play shit at 60fps?
At a regular distance to the monitor 1444p is more than enough.

where the heck are you seeing those prices?

Don't live in the third world then?

imagine being cucked so hard by EU that a sapphire pulse 5700 XT isn't only $10 more than MSRP

>will likely get fixed in a couple of weeks.
Sure, just like with ryzen bios which is still defective after 5 weeks

Attached: dual rank RAM.jpg (994x746, 295K)

>everyone thoight the 3rd party 5700s would be 50-100 dollars more

>most prominent amd partner releases top tier model for just 10 dollars more

Fucking hell it just keeps getting worse for nvidia

>pulse
Enjoy your black screens

>top tier model
>pulse
Look I agree with you but at least think before you post

I'll be installing a 3600 soon.
What amd drivers do I have to install?
The chipset driver and what more?

pls sir do the needful and delite this

Attached: 1564684145857.jpg (1920x1080, 626K)

but where can u buy it ;_;

It's going to be £50 more expensive than reference over here in the UK (That's about 60 dollaridoos).

Sometimes I hate living over here.

everywhere but US markets

That looks like Geizhals.eu, a site that collects pricing data from most EU/German online stores.

>check pulse listing in swedestan

Fuck it. Enough of returning Vega 56s.

My last 3 builds have had a Corsair PSU and I've never had an issue, get bent pleb.

amazon.com/Gigabyte-Radeon-Graphics-256-Bit-Gv-R57XTGAMING/dp/B07W95D5V3/
here's the gigabyte version for anyone that gives a shit I guess
$420 USD

>dual rank
>not quad rank
Get the fuck out of my thread.

I don't think consumer quad-rank exists

Chipset driver is all. CPUs aren't like GPUs with needing all the software to run other software.

They probably have like 10 left or some shit at this point and had already listed them at their lowest prices in the past.
Maybe black friday, they'll put them on sale again.

Source for remaining microcode problems?

>So why do people blow cash to play shit at 60fps?
They don't..?
a 1440p@75 build only costs like $1000-1100 with monitor included. Unless you considering that a lot.

>consumer quad-rank
...What are you, poor?

Attached: 1408292814887.jpg (680x462, 37K)

quad rank does not equal quad channel m8s

>Gigabyte

Attached: 1559688905720.png (408x360, 181K)

>Maybe black friday, they'll put them on sale again
Black Friday has been a scam in Europe for the past two or three years. Retailers just don't care about clearing inventory, even with the incoming 5700/XT partner models that ridicule the Vega cards at a cheaper or equivalent price.

I see better deals generally just pop up throughout the year at random shop sales tbqh. just gotta look out

Yes yes I know >Gigabyte
I'm just posting in regards to the recent posts about people saying that the 5700 XT AIBs cost a shit ton

You're effectively QR if you're running DR across two channels but have fun finding a board with adequate sig.

This but in USD.
>Passed on the MSI one that was on sale for like $260-something because it was a blower
>Literally no other Vega 56s have gone on sale since

>>Hyper 212 EVO for AM4
>>backplate is cheap plastic
>>bolts directly touching MB

any issues with this

Thanks

I meant 4k 60fps.
I'd prefer 1080p 144hz over 4K 60 any day.

Upgrading from a really old intel system. I've run into way too many incompatibilities so far, so now I ask you guys:
pcpartpicker.com/list/BDYHV6
Is this a functional system (specifically for linux)? I can buy from microcenter, so the BIOS is already updated for Ryzen 3000. But I would like to know if there's anything glaringly stupid about it.
PS- It's old enough that I have to update the mobo, RAM, CPU, and GPU pretty much all at once. Budget Is around $500 to 600 for the mobo, CPU, and RAM.

WHERE THE FUCK ARE THE 5700 AIB'S ITS MID AUGUST REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

if amd had released a 5800 and 5900 nvidia would be in trouble but they didn't

It's 30 bucks for a reason user. Most stuff that's significantly better cost twice the money.

Blower V56s are dirt cheap. But I returned a Strixx because the noise was heinous and RMA'd a Pulse for grinding fan; nevermind that the fan control for some reason was shit and had no temp target feature. Kinda tired of buying the same shit over and over again. At least they sent the XBox codes... even after I returned the product.

Still waiting for B450M Mortar MAX BTW.

Attached: 1416533425135.jpg (320x256, 21K)

half of this thread has been literally discussing them wait one week

just ordered the 3700x, so it begins
other parts in the next few days, buliding in a couple of weeks
wish me luck

>Blower V56s are dirt cheap.
I wouldn't call forty dollars under a 5700 non-xt "dirt cheap." Now, eighty dollars less than a 5700 non-xt, that I can get behind.

So finally my mobo, RAM and CPU is here. I updated the BIOS to the latest avaliable one btw.

My specs are pretty much
>3700X with stock cooler for now
>X470 Taichi
I think I should have gone for the Ultimate for the 10G and futureproof, but when that is actually needed, the PCIe will be less than 50€ I guess.
>3600@18 4x8GB CMK16GX4M2B3600C18
I installed the latest Windows 10 Enterprise (not LTSC) because it should perform a little bit better with Zen 2, and it isn't that much bloated and I should be able to remove some stuff.

So I went and tried to use DRAM Calculator for Ryzen but the fast preset wanted me to do 3733@14, which didn't boot at all, and the safe one 3733@16, which I still need to test.
Also, I tried the stock cooler and didn't touch the OC settings for the CPU, all is left to auto, should I tweak anything there? I just tried to use the CPU Z's stress test to quickly check the clocks, and it went to just 4,1GHz.

amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-rad-win-19-8-1
>overclocking issue already fixed
hmmmm

So the new 5700 are coming out next week right?
Is there any chance they'll be at the 300€ prince range in Europe or is it just an american thing?

buying a new pc soon do i need to worry about upgrading my CPU later they're all so powerful these days i feel like you could keep one for ten years

Intel good

No one in this thread besides you ever said quad rank means quad channels. Are you genuinely mentally retarded? Like sub-90 IQ?

OBS Replay Buffer vs AMD ReLive vs Xbox DVR vs other alternatives
What's the best?
In terms of Performance Hit, Quality, and Audio
No I can't use ShadowPlay

Nvidia NVenc stream > Win 10/XBOX capture
Haven't tried other solutions so far.

>still can't beat 2070s
>will never play MHW as good
I'm glad I didn't wait....

BLACK FRIDAY in europe is 5% off pencils at a pc store, no joke.

oh nonono

Attached: untitled-1.png (713x909, 54K)

How's the 5700xt on linux
I was reading a week ago that it isn't plug and play yet but that was a week ago
have things changed?

>wokefield at 1080p
Now post the big boy resolutions

>no raytracing
DOA

>I wouldn't call forty dollars under a 5700 non-xt "dirt cheap."
In Europe user. Seen blower based V56s for as low as 220€ or thereabouts. Obviously little point if you don't intend to replace the stock cooler, unless you really need/want a blower.

5700xt beats the 2070 in MHW though...

>NOOOOO you can't benchmark at 1080
how the table have turned

Attached: 1565462279670.png (785x1000, 244K)

just wait another couple of months

memetracing will make nvidia fps look even worse

Post proof

I can still return this thing

Is the Sapphire Pulse 5700/XT in stock anywhere?

Will there be consumer motherboards for Zen 2 Threadrippers that support at least 512GB memory?

Attached: 76136280_p0.jpg (1497x2649, 1.17M)

The 2070 is basically equivalent to a 2060S which the 5700 standard already equals, and the 5700XT is slightly behind the 2070S for much cheaper.
>techpowerup.com/review/asus-radeon-rx-5700-xt-strix-oc/14.html

Is there any reason to get the rx 580 instead of the rx 590, if i want to play at 1080p60fps?

Price. The 590 isn't significantly faster. If they're close enough in price, pick the 590... or the 1660. If they're not, make yourself a favour and pick a 580.
