mpdncmpcpp is alright but I prefer adfaldkfjadiadfkajlsdkjfasdfafsd

>current year
>not using mpdjfkdlfjdfbdjsafobdjsakflbdsaklfdsabfdkjsalfbdjskafbdsajkfbdskjafjdsaklfdbsaklfbdkjsalbfdjskalfa

windows user?

Musicbee is comfyest, change my mind, im already using windows so muh closed source is not an option, but if i were to switch whats a similiar player?

yes

you can also run f2k in wine fyi

Any mpd client available.

spotify

only god can judge me

that's why I asked you stupid nigger
why don't you use MPC? there is an active fork

no watch this:
you're a stupid faggot.

see? I just judged you.

oh wow I am so injured, so hurt, how could you do this, oh no im so shook, pplease mr anonmoose dont tell me ur opinion of my consumption habbits, however shall my self esteem recover?

How about this: For my lossless collection I use Groove

>why don't you use MPC?
no particular reason, just got used to it
it just werks and the OSD has all the functions i need

also I listen to spotify over the Wiretap Home Hub (TM) I use as my primary computer speakers

yeah but user, you know mpv is for trannies right

but what if I am a tranny

Attached: three-toed-sloths_thumb.jpg (2048x2048, 700K)

aw shit
brb installing mpc-hc

V
L
C

nice try but trannies are linux users

yh but I'm a national socialist running MPC and foobar with wine, so what's your tranny point

For me, it is the C* Music Player, aka cmus

Attached: cmus.png (1041x364, 85K)

Wait, there are people who run Windows natively? In current year? user, nobody would be stupid enough to run Windows without virtualizing it first.

firefox file:///home/Me/Music

Linux and mpv user here, is that being a double tranny? Or do the two trannies cancel each other out?
What a conundrum.

I don't listen to music

Me too, fellow redditor.

haha you owned that tranny user

I use mpd and a client that I wrote.

Attached: scmus.png (484x292, 16K)

based and redpilled

Still loyal to Foobar2000

I use

mpdncmpcppmpcpulseaduio

tell us more

mpv is just a frontend for video and audio. I guess you could use it as a music player, but It isn't a music player specifically
but to answer your question
>windows
clementine
>linux
ncmpcpp + mpd

got a git repo?

poettering GO HOME!

ncmpcpp and mpd or clementine + subsonic / musicbee on other windows computer i barely use

iTunes.

It's a client I wrote some years back and hack on every now and then. It's written in scheme, and you can control it by writing scripts in scheme or entering scheme expressions to be evaluated at run time. Keybindings are implemented as expressions that get evaluated when a combination/sequence of keys are pressed, etc.

It's been a while since I used it... functionality may be more limited, but it's a nice clean layout.

>using a fucking server-client music player
why are you so mentally ill? who hurt you when you were little?
Just use a fucking media player that can directly run without this bullshit of daemon-client.
cmus is perfect for a terminal

mopidy + ncmpcpp + spotify
I can't possibly store half the music I listen to

>cmus
those fonts look pretty nice

Attached: Screenshot from 2019-08-12 23-01-26.png (1600x900, 348K)

VLC

How many gigs user? I'm at over 2TB

You might be the mentally ill one if you're getting this flustered over someone else's choice of music player.

I just use Rhytmbox because I recently switched to Linux and can't really find one I like. I tried clementine but it uses some weird playlist system, but I don't use playlists and it seemed like a pain in the ass.

I believe that's one of the first metrics to becoming a regular on 4channel.org

I mean it's fucking autistic I can't comprehend a reason to even be this specific about a certain music player when every normal distribution for a desktop already comes with a music player

>I mean it's fucking autistic
DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOU ARE

MusicBee.

if it was autistic for a single, even just one made up reason, it would make sense even a bit.
Like installing gentoo, but this has just no purpose whatsoever

Autism works in mysterious ways. I try not to define the parameters.

With cmus you just
cmus
:a Music
done, every other time you just write cmus on the terminal to play music
why go set up a daemon for this and set the music directory with config files? god

Here two reasons to use mpd:
>you want to use multiple clients (e.g. a normal client for creating playlists etc., plus mpc for global keybindings)
>you want to control playback over the network (e.g. from your phone, laptop, etc.)
It only takes a few minutes to set up mpd. It's only marginally harder to set up than cmus.

I never could make mpd to work on my gentoo system.

So I use mocp.

mpc

mpd + custom written client in python (learning some python)

mpv with some configuration to make it look nicer for playing music.

mpa-osd.lua
filename = ""
-- store cursor position on initialization. Note that this isn't guaranteed
-- to run before initial printing has been done and can be inconsistent.
io.write('\27[s')

function clear()
-- restore cursor position
io.write('\27[u')

-- clear to bottom of screen
io.write('\27[J')
end

function on_track_change(name)

clear()

-- write filename
filename = mp.get_property('filename')
io.write(filename .. '\n')
end

mp.register_event('start-file', on_track_change)
mp.register_event('shutdown', clear)

mpv config
[music]
vid=no
msg-level=file=error,ffmpeg=error,input=error,cplayer=no
script=~/.mpv/mpa/mpa-osd.lua
audio-display=no

alias mpa="mpv --profile=music"
