>gaming phone
>no games
What were they thinking?
Gaming phone
Look at that future landfill
Wouldn't a Nintendo switch phone make the most sense
>No Games
I can't wait to play the same game but in 200 different flavors of ad-ridden whale bait
You can actually run Android on a switch. That's how far hacking has gotten.
I have never played a mobile game, who the hell are these people
I mean it's a standard nvidia tegra SoC, it already has an official arm build
>fate/go, pokemon go, and azur lane requires gaming peripherals like controllers and dual screens
yeah, no games you retard
I check them out every couple years and they are always trash
>holding a book sized phone to your face
Are you Korean?
East Asia (China)
Nah, popular games in China like Honor of Kings (LoL Clone) and PUBG can take advantage of peripherals.
99% of mobile games can run a $50 chinkphone
Emulators
>Buying gaming phone
What were you thinking?
Why get this when you can just hack a 3DS or a Vita?
>3ds
>Vita
Shit displays, but I guess they're fine if you can get them really cheap.
It's a great way to milk the "premium" sector. These phones don't make much because of the low volumes, but you get nice margins from the accessories, plus it serves as a halo product to prop up the brand
>Halo product
It's $479.99.
absolute state of nintendo, can't even secure their shit properly
ROG Phone II is closer to $900 though?
vita has an OLED display
Where can I buy this,
I was going to get the note 10 but it turned out to be a dumpster fire this year.
Thinking the same thing Nokia did
pretty much this
why buy a handheld when you already have a phone and can just get a controller adapter
Their OS is extremely secure. It's nVidia's fault, they accidentally a recovery mode.
mobile gaming should be to handheld gaming what PC gaming is to console gaming. But sadly this has never actually happened. I blame touchscreens and the lack of proper input for games by default, but that still doesn't excuse a lot of stuff.
Especially strategy games and turn-based RPGs. For example, with a couple tweaks, games like Fallout 1+2 could easily work on mobile with touch-only controls.
Because those systems actually have decent games whereas ios/android games are garbage.
Tbf if you had something like the apple earbuds with a mic inline or however the fuck it works, being able to get a phone line on a switch would be pretty cool and useful
What games are there even on Android and iOS? The only worthwhile games are ports of older AA games.
and even if there are any games, most of the time they require you to do some awkward bullshit like hooking up a controller. And at that point it hardly even seems worth it to bother.
I expected Android and iOS games to take over the handheld market completely. These things have huge amounts of power now (as powerful as desktop PCs from the early 2010s) and touchscreen controls, there has to be some games you can play on that. Instead it's just ad-filled casual games.
I bet 80% of that is just China and South Korea
>120hz display
>promote it with a game that's hard locked at 60fps
>two phones
>fancy controller
you could probably build a really good PC for the price of that memestation.
fpbp, based & anticonsumerismpilled
>GBA got it's manual leaked, emulation happened before the thing even released
>Wii is a clusterfuck that can run android somehow using a browser bug
>DS is easy to turn into a pirate machine w/ freeshop
>switch needs a paperclip to get pwned
I'm not complaining, but they're obviously cutting corners
That's the high end limited model. The normal one is/was $479.
That's also why I think upgrading to the latest smartphones is a total meme. It's like shelling out for top-of-the-line PC parts for gaming, despite not playing games or doing any rendering or anything like that. 99% of people with phones just do basic shit like web browsing, texting, and checking email. There's no actual need for monstrous power under the hood. Especially when there are no good games anyway, even if you actually did want to play.
You can't run Android on the Wii
And the Freeshop doesn't work anymore on the *3DS.
Sperg.
1. More convenient/better and lagless controls
2. Separate battery
3. Better game library by far
the real reason is that Android apps are too easy to pirate
and it's true. I can get almost any paid app from the Play Store with a quick Google search
dragon quests ports
kotor
riptide gp
cultist simulator
king of dragon pass
emulation
This is the great tragedy of mobile devices. They have the potential to be pretty decent gaming devices, but the only games on them are simple timewasters, Chinese shovelware, and generic, gimped imitations of popular franchises. Nvidia pushed for a lot of PC games to get ported to Android for their Shield tablet, but I don't think that initiative is still ongoing to this day. I guess the wide variance in hardware combined with the lack of a proper, standardized control scheme fated this to be true from the start. At least you can load up tons of emulators.
Just check the playercount of Arena of Valor.
The whole of china is playing. Everyone was playing this (or games that just look like it) when I was in Chinkland.
Mobile gaming is huge there, as people use public transport instead of driving. I know that's a hard concept for Amerilards, but it's true.
Also, it's way more affordable and comfier than camping out in a sweaty chink pc cafe.
Almost all of these are shitty clones of established phone games, which are games like candy crush and that game where you break down some forts i dunno.
this means nothing
That's great and all but you don't need a controller and a second monitor to play those types of games.
