Tell me, user, are you a virtual machine Chad or a containerized soi boi?

how many times will you make this thread, user?

virtual machines are for developing the operative system itself retard, containers are for deploying applications.
dumb faggot

VM because I can't into containers besides basic fedora-toolbox. Honestly would be more efficient and faster if I turned my build VMs into containers.

Bare metal

What if you develop container software?

All that plastic surgery and the insectoid kept the mole LUL

It's a 3D render.

Why yes, we use Qubes, how did you know

>the lighting and cloth of the shirt give it away.
maybe if you're a fucking autist

>you roastie retard.
why would a yellow roastie hate her own kind?

I dunno, ask any of the korean borderline terrorist feminist movements. They can't stand pretty women.

yellow roasties aren't pretty, they're hideous

that's why they become umpteenth wave feminists in the first place

bare metal bb

you misspelled S O Y

Both?

>remove the beauty mark
just admit you're a fag

What is the point of containers anyway?

Well?

DevOps circlejerking protocol.

>imageboard, lavabit, wireguard, and rtorrent all running on one server and keeping everything clean
containers are great for host cleanliness autism

So you don't need to run an entire OS for every server you have.
There are loads of advantages, like deployability, portability, automation, but the real reason is because cloud servers are paid for by the core and not the usage. Containers allow you to safely and effectively run a whole load of shit on one VPS without making maintenance a nightmare.

checked

because I don't want to have to think about the goddamn os and just need to specify the static environment in a few lines of dockerfile and then run that shit wherever I want

Podman > cock Docker

This post is uncanny indeed.
For a board that wanks over muh performance, suggesting containers are soi boi over VMs is strange.
Could it be that in reality 99% of this board has no idea what they're talking about, and it's all just a big LARP?

Bare metal bitch reporting

containers are for zoomers

Fuck off noodle whore

VMs all the way.

They are basically used as install scripts/installers and to provide a false sense of being secure and knowledgeable without actual security or knowledge.

That's a man, right?

systemd-machined+KVM

Obviously that is the case too, but maybe the people that talk about performance and the people that like VMs over containers don't overlap perfectly

Rather ask it here than create a new thread.

Was just given full control of a VM at our production network at work for hosting apps. What would be the best way for getting a bunch of apps to coexist? They should all be web accessible through https.

kino

apache with many virtual hosts...you dont even have to use different ports, apache will sort requests based on url requested.

I'm using that kind of setup to host two dotnet core web apis using the virtual host as a reverse proxy to the internal kestrel server.

This but use nginx

Forgot to add. It's running Windows Server 2k12 and I can't change that.

this

IIS can do the same thing as This young whippersnapper here is probably right, I just use apache because I'm old but nginx has better concurrent connections performance

Thanks! I'll check these out.

I've never seen someone explain containerisation simply

>windows server

lmao just commit suicide

VirtualMachine FTW!

Go to hell, disgusting pedo scum.

Virtual machine, but only because I haven't felt the need for figuring out docker yet. VM works fine for me, except for the minor issue that my work machine has a locked bios, so I can't enable virtualization and every god damn up to date image is 64 bit.

Jokes on you I have my containers Inside of my virtual machine.
