I fell hard for the ESP/95X and I can't stop shilling it.

Ok i'm a lazy fuck so I think I'm going to get the JDS element, it seems like too solid of an all-in-one not to just get and be done with it. Now the real question is, what do I get engraved? Pic related is my first thought, but send me better stuff /hpg/

the schiit audio logo, obviously

you say that ironically, but it would be really funny to actually do that

even this is better than that
i know i know

I would totally do that

Alright hold up hold up, this song Soleiele off the same album as O, Chuma? This has a LOT of fucking bass. I really can't tell if it's distorting or that's just how the song songs though, maybe I'll play it on my full size speakers later to see.

>high end
>includes the lowest-end Stax headphone
I shiggy

What brand of mind less consumption will make me feel less lonely and depressed?

WTF bros why did you lie to me
Bought KSC75 for $22 because it's in a poorfag suggestions list, but it sounds 100% like HT010 for $6

I don't care what your autism audio-fool thread is about, but I'm giving you fair warning. DO NOT use my waifu for your OP image ever again. God help you if I see another Kagamine Rin picture ITT

To be fair the ksc75 isn't considered an upgrade to anything, its if you literally have no headphones.

>What audiophile memes have you fallen for this week, Jow Forums?
I should receive my first Stax in two days. If it's shit, you can bet Jow Forums will get a new spammer. If it's good, I'll just enjoy it and frown slightly less upon stax spammers.

post tracks/albums you use to flex your headphones

How many fucking waifus do you have??

Those Koss sport clips are amazing. I could never get them to press close enough to my ears for optimal sound and ended up taking the speakers out to put in headphones that had been blown out. The result sounded better than either ever had. I see they still have that weird dropout around 2 or 4 kHz. It doesn't affect subjective perception of music much honestly.

I would also recommend Monoprice 8323 as another good poorfag option. I have them right now, they sound pretty great especially if you give them a treble boost in EQ. They also isolate noise pretty well, and have a wire you can replace with any common aux cord when it breaks.

>be me
>leave for a few months

Nope

Put some highend audio techniqa headphones you stupid fuck

there is no such thing

You are plain dumb

these are just expensive mediocre headphones, nothing "highend" about that

I'm going to listen through the ring cycle. Recommendations for head phones and dac? Source is my ps3 playing a Blu ray audio.

I see, you are just a stupid american, have no appreciation to the greatest high mids, for the vocals. You are just a faggot. Also you don't know shit about these headphones.

Jesus christ, don't post this shite ever again

What's the lowest tier of headphone that doesn't cheap out on the earpads and doesn't require aftermarket replacements out of the box to be usable?

What stax have to do with everything we just talked about? You are just saying stax in everything you are disagreeing with? Great argument, fag.

look at old models from respected brands. do a search and see if any boomers are still jerking off over them on [dumb audio nerd forum]. try to find info on refurbing people have tried and what non-stock pads can be used straight or modified. don't pay more than ~$50 for any pair you find. be prepared to use and amp with most of them (yamaha hp-3 orthos is my least efficient set, on an o2 it still blows my ass out)

Anyone try surgery on 598's? It's a pain in the ass if the ear pieces aren't made for it. Had to unscrew the whole earpiece, wrap it around the driver, then screw it back together. It's pretty comfortable but now the bass is kinda muddy and highs are diminished quite a bit. When I squeeze the drivers to my head it sounds better. Oh well.

Ok.
Commentary is scrambled in the machine translation, and I have no competency in Chinese to help that. I can see it does not reflect the most recent publication from Olive et.al, which was published in March.
Based on the AES publications, the most generally well-rated sets are HP19 (Shure SRH1540) and HP25(Fidelio X1?). Other headphones were less generally well-received or favored by certain tastes. As an example, the 7506 and DT990 were highly rated by the treble favoring/elderly listeners which pulled up their overall score.

>endgame
>stax

Personally my end game is an Orpheus or a Shangri La.

Can you tell me any more about them? I’m intrigued but there’s so little info on the internet.

What?

i already have the m1060, should i get an m1060c and keep it closed or just add the money I'd spend on it to my STAX fund?

>the most generally well-rated sets are HP19 (Shure SRH1540) and HP25(Fidelio X1?)
The graphs you are referring isn't in the same scale. The headphones are right but I think the 7506 is the second more preferred after Fidelio X1. the 2019 paper uses the 2018 data, and pic related is all headphones put in the same scale. The highest is $300 which is Fidelio X1 and the second highest is $80 which is 7506.

All I want is the DT770 with a detachable cable, is the Custom Studio comparable?

I need a pair of wireless (dongle or bluetooth, doesn't matter) headphones that are good for watching movies. I'm in the US. Any recommendations?

Attached: file.png (800x500, 672K)

Depends on your price level lol, if you can afford it nothing is better than the Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless.

$150

I'd get the Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT if you don't need ANC, if you need ANC I'd get the Sennheiser 4.50 BTC.

This better be good.

Get ready for chink build quality.

What's the difference between the SR-404 and the SR-407?

I'm used to it.

aren't they all sidegrades?

hifiman has like 20 different models, it's ridiculous. Just get the Koss ESP/95X and be done with it

Yggy! Yggy!

Pretty much. But the 400i sounds a tad 'brighter' than the 400s to me. The 400s is a pretty good middle ground to the Monolith and 400i right now. Besides, got it for 200AUD, which is a bargain, so whatevs, it looks nice on my shelf.

I'm the guy asking whether to get the m1060c or add to the STAX fund. Think I'm gonna add to the STAX fund instead for shits and giggles.

I'm adding to the R2R DAC, myself

I'd like to know how he'd rate the cheaper Senn models like 599 and Drop 58X. Also how is DT990 on the same level as K712 and HD650, isn't it a treble cannon?

>I'd like to know how he'd rate the cheaper Senn models like 599 and Drop 58X.
He thought 650 didn't have enough tremble so 58X will only be worse. Don't know about 599.
>Also how is DT990 on the same level as K712 and HD650, isn't it a treble cannon?
He thought DT990 had better bass than the other two, and the tremble is borderline acceptable for him.

M1060 graph looks dark as fuck wtf

58X has more treble than 650. At least from listening.

It's only the 6khz spike that gives a more crisp sounding that it doesn't appear to be veiled like 650 but it's even more laid back than 650

Attached: RMS-Level---Massdrop-x-Sennheiser-HD58X-Jubilee---Sennheiser-HD650.jpg (3317x1346, 732K)

Okay. I wonder if a pro like him has had a bit of hearing loss that changes the way he hears treble and stuff, IMO high-treble headphones can be pretty fatiguing.

>Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT
these look very attractive to me, i used to own a original m50 and was perfectly happy with them
how i the sound quality wired vs wireless?
looking at amazon reviews it ranges from no difference to massive difference so I'm not sure who to believe

Two completely different models from two completely different lines.

so tell me, just what are you listening with right this very moment user?

Wait a sec, people said jubilee had more lowend than 650

when you 2013 newfags die already?

Low end measurement isn't accurate due to bad sealing. Some other measurements reported more bass.

Without getting into personal attacks like the other guy did, i do think there is a space for the ATH-AP2000Ti and the ADX5000. They offer clarity in the mids and highs like others do at much higher prices, and do it while being extremely nice with many sources of different price points.

Im not making the guide, just saying they should be considered.

Denon AH-D7200 with ZMF microsuede ori pads. Ear pillows for work, honestly.

The most recent publication provides more context of the information. I have had the papers for some time.
When I said "generally well-rated" I really mean to emphasize that generality. It is apparent that the treble peaking of the 7506 is what made so liked by the particular older segment, but less well by the majority of listeners. Many of the highly-rated headphones by the treble grouping, the Grado, DT990, 7506, Utopia, are known for their treble peaks, which can be seen clearly in their responses.

That graph was a prototype I believe, the final version had more low end compared to 650. The final version graph should be whats on drop site for the 58X description right now.

how is the Sennheiser HD 6XX ?

everyone knows the hd58x are objectively better than the hd6xx

anyone saying otherwise is just coping

Why does it feel like my Bose QCII on PC with Peace EQ, despite sounding great, still sound worse than some $10 in-ears plugged into my phone with an auto equalizer?

Actually, it seems like my headphones sound way better on my phone as well. Da fuck.
My phone is a OnePlus 5, with Poweramp app and equalizer.
My PC uses a good old Creative Surround 5.1 Pro, Peace equalizer.
All sounds are way cleaner AND have heavier, more satisfying bass on my phone.
Thoughts on why? Do I need a new soundcard for my PC or something?

Sony WH CH700N any good?
I'm primarily looking at these since I can use them wired with my PC, wireless with TV and phone instead of having 3 pairs of headphones.
Sound quality isnt THAT important, I just want it to sound good enough. I'm not an audiophile or a complete normie, I suppose I just appreciate good enough sounding headphones. I've read that the connectivity and battery life are excellent so I'm not worried about that. Comfort is very subjective so no point in asking. The noise cancellation isn't really a priority, but I'm sure it'll be fine enough on the bus.
I've previously used M50x's which were fine, currently using SHP9500's which I like, but I'd probably prefer a bit more bass. I don't really like my T2's, since they sound way too piercing and I also hate my SE215s- extremely uncomfortable and to me, they sound like garbage.
I could get the Sony headphones for 110 europoors on amazon right now.

Look into output impedances. Cleaner with heavier bass sounds like an effect of higher output impedance resulting in underdamping of the driver. This makes a warmer but less accurate sound. I had a similar experience with my hifi amp's headphone jack, my Earstudio ES100, and a low impedance pair of IEMs - they made a warm "classic hifi" sort of sound connected to the amp. You can somewhat reproduce the sound with an EQ that looks like this.

Attached: Screenshot_20190819-134213_EarStudio.jpg (1440x848, 148K)

Kinda regret going with leather Ori pads, even if suede probably sounds a bit brighter and less gentle. Leather is grippy and that's not the best feeling in the world to forget you have headphones on your head.
