4000 euro laptop

THIS IBM LAPTOP has costet 4000 euros in the year 2001.

What should be its value after 18 years of active use?
It works perfectly.

Moore's law

sqrt(sqrt(sqrt(sqrt(sqrt(sqrt(sqrt(sqrt(sqrt(sqrt(sqrt(sqrt(sqrt(sqrt(sqrt(sqrt(sqrt(sqrt(4000))))))))))))))))))

im joking its actually 4000/(2^9)

50 eurobucks at most

Bout 3950eur seems fair

5000 euros, total steal considering inflation and all

i didn't know thinkpads existed in 2001

You could've put 4000^(1/(2^18)) but whatever.

i was aiming for aboslute retardation

first ones came already in 1998 I think

Up to 25 euros max. You should slap veracrypt and openbsd and sell it as "safe for criminals" for 500 euros tho.

I got a pretty good condition a22m for about 30 euros. This was only about $2500 back in 2001 though.

over 9000 internets

The first ones came in like 1992 but the first "slim" ones came around 1998.

how useful a22m would be today?
I mean a31p has at least 2GHz Pentium 4 CPU and can be fitted with 2GB RAM, so even modern Linux runs on it altough its slow

You can edit text or compile small projects on it. And even then the screen is pain on the eyes and the fonts are ugly. It's dead technology.

Not useful at all for other than for some nostalgic feels and retro shit.

about 3.50

A31p has absolutely great 1600x1200 IPS screen
Yes, IPS from year 2001

Ok, there's a catch, the screen draws moving images too slow (its really the screen, not the GPU) so it has ghost image issue if you try to play games or watch video. But the screen is still good for things like photoshop and viewing photographs with correct colors.

I wish I can get an Apple Lisa for 3.814ยข

I love that trackball/numpad thingy, would use such with a modern computer

But it's garbage IPS with bleed. 1600x1200 is not good enough, 13" macbooks have multiple times the PPI.

Yes but the real attraction is, its from 2001, thus being very first IPS:s ever sold to consumers, not only being in research lab use

Modern IPSs of course beats it.

I don't get this whole nostalgia thing. I can buy a cheap used 1080p chromebook.

How common are those ? might sell it to some retarded collector

they are rare but if you do find one, you might get 50 euro from a collector

this is not so much a collectors item as would a thinkpad from 1992 be

I have seen a retard pay 200 euros for the first thinkpad ever

>aiming for aboslute retardation
>not using (1+1+1+...+1) instead of 4000
