Some people are too dumb at actually connect their monitor to their GPU to actually use the GPU
On some OEM and prebuilt systems that both have a GPU and a motherboard with graphics output they often have multiple warnings and stickers covering the motherboard outputs to make sure the user connects to the GPU for best performance

My brother did this. Texted me saying he couldn't run civ6 at anything higher than 480p, so I visited him (12 hour drive, already had the trip planned) and it was exactly like the picture.

tfw you can do it and it works like on a laptop (intel gpu is handling the display, novidya gpu is handling the rendering). I think you can get it to work on linux and get normal vsync on nvidia that way.

it works on intel processors which have an igpu. look up intel "headless mode", it's not that hard, though the only point is using some things like quicksync while using the GPU for other stuff, or if you are running one of those chink mining cards that have no video output (this requires modded unsigned drivers though, much more of a hassle for no point).
