My X230 trackpad feels good. I've replaced it once it was worn out and I use Debian KDE. Of course in Windows the mouse drivers feel worse in any laptop.

Its objectively shit, tiny grainy feel with no multitouch gesture support.

This or cramped spaces like a plane (touchscreens are common now so it's not such a big of a deal anymore).
The only other application I can see is for people with motoric difficulties but for a regular person it's more annoying and the precision is less than ideal.

I had a love-hate relationship with this stupid thing when I owned a ThinkPad. If you have a steady finger, it can be more accurate than the touchpad at certain tasks.

I have to use a mouse. I simply can't use the nipple nor the trackpad.
