so on auto oc the furmark is hotter, junctional temp of the SAPPHIRE got up to 104c with back on back runs at 1440p. but the fan is set low and i cant make more aggressive fan curves in wattman bc it is greyed out

OK, I OCd and increased the power limit to 50 and cranked up the fan curves. It increased the fps on furmark by about 12 percent, but the junctional temp lept up to 110 and it got LOUD. 65 decibels. its tolerable for me though but yea. this is massively oc'd though and not what i would need

For this particular game a steady fps of at least 100 is crucial to split second reactions. It's like CS:GO but it doesn't have nintendo64 graphics. Of course that's assuming you actually have a 1ms GtG response time monitor.

1440p is doable however but only with RIS applied to native 1080p however. This and pic related is why going with nvidia right now is like shooting yourself in the foot.
