Windows Phone

OK anyone still using these, or is it dead?

Wasn't it dead the moment they stopped supported it? I mean, if it still boots up it's arguably useful.

my lumia 820 still works after 7 years, but i don't use it anymore
i can't stand the lack of applications
last time i checked intagram was still in beta. WP users have to use an unofficial app called "6tag"

Dead, it never began for WP once Google tried to kill it with its monopoly power on the web

I still use one.

>is it dead
I kinda wish it wasn't. As shit as it was, it was infinitely more polished than pajeetroid and itoddlerOS combined.

>t's arguably useful.
It is only useful as a dumb phone, the lack of useful apps keeps this from being called a smartphone, even the browser doesn't work well and crashes in most pages. It's usefulness comes from awesome camera, music player, really good quality phone. I been wanting to buy one but can't find a good one for a good price.

It's fucking dead.
I got to use it during the 8.1 days. It was a great OS with bad software support.

this, muh 640xl has been gathering dust for a couple of years now in favour of nokia3 on android.

ms abandons them at the end of this year. there are hardly any apps and you can only use apps for which api hasn't changed. browser does not support latest tech. using wp8 you are fucked wp10 isn't that bad but you also feel that soon you won't be able to browse. browsing Jow Forums works flawlessly right now tho

I still use my 950 to watch porn in bed and as a pocket camera on occasion.
But no, it's pretty much dead. For shame. I've often wanted to go back to using it as my main phone, but between my bank and various other important things no longer supporting Windows 10 Mobile it's just not viable.

>the lack of useful apps keeps this from being called a smartphone
Not really, it's still a smartphone because it performs the functions required for a smartphone to be considered a smartphone. Just because you can't play the latest version of Farmville on it doesn't make it a dumbphone.

Still using my 430 or 435(honestly don't remember). Actually replaced it with xiaomeme 2 years ago, but it died(well, not died, but i guess radiomodule died or something) less than a year later while i lost warranty, so i started to use lumia again. Also, sound on lumia is miles better than on redmi.

>it performs the functions required for a smartphone to be considered a smartphone

If that were the case a Nokia Xpressmusic would also be called a smartphone, or even the new 8110 would be called a smartphone, you can't in good faith call any Lumia phone a smartphone, because it doesn't perform like one. And if you think it does it's mostly because you never had one or didn't exprience the full iteration of useable to unstable to absolute shit show of WP10

No apps and the web browser is shit. People claiming it's better than iOS and Android are truly retarded.

The Xpressmusic series were smartphones, yes. They ran Symbian and were able to perform all the basic functions of a smartphone. I don't know much about KaiOS, but if it supports the same functionality then that too should be considered a smartphone.

In fact, the only real difference functionally between Symbian and Android is that the latter has far more third party developers supporting it, as well as running on more powerful modern hardware. That doesn't make Symbian any less of a smartphone OS.

>The Xpressmusic series were smartphones, yes.
Oh ok, so you are retarded, good to know

Why

>old phone bad

they were feature phones retard

Next thing you're gonna say the N95 wasn't a smartphone either.

I am posting on Lumia 630 right now. I use it for browsing mostly and its ok. Shame some apps barely works, like I can't login to fb messanger for some reason and I would like some retro console emulator

Default browser is functional but it works like finite automata, if you exit it for other app you may have problem with coming back to your site. So remember to leave browser with google bookmark open, or use history. Also you can only have about 6 bookmarks open at the same time

by your retarded logic my W810i was a smartphone because it had a web browser

Why does Microsoft fail at everything that isn't their once per decade good OS?
seriously name one thing Microsoft has done that has succeeded outside of Windows.

Still have by LG Optimus in a drawer somewhere.Had to buy a new phone after it stopped registering the sim card for some reason.

Azure, Office

It is 200%, integrally, categorically, completely dead.

>Office
even that has been a bloatet laggy mess for the past decade

too bad it's dead, best mobile OS ever

It's dead but deserves a resurrection.
There are people who are porting Windows 10 to some Lumias and it works well but not well enough to be viable as a daily driver.

My 640 died last year so I finally bought my first Android phone (Mi Note 5) and installed Square Home on it.
