kill yourself brainlet.

>8 steps vs 3

>you need an ad blocker in order to not be served malware
imagine being this cucked

>you need a condom in order to not get AIDS from a hooker
imagine having shit tier immunity system

wut

now you just went full retarded, at least come up with a car analogy instead like all retards do.

Wincunts have been eating shit for years now

Ubuntu is a better desktop experience

for me its octopi. fuck having to write pacman -S every time

>sudo apt-get install program
>program not found
>search online for program
>find repo
>sudo add-apt-repository ppa:user/ppa-name

in case it doesn't have a repo
>you have to compile it
>download tar.gz
>boring stuff
>some more boring stuff
>finally installed
>program does shit compared to the windows couterpart

>my OS is the same as a diseased hooker
>I am proud of this
lmao wintards

>open terminal as superuser
>choco install progam -y
Your program is the last version, unlike lapt

>sudo apt install photoshop

This and
sudo choco install -y

>your program is bleeding edge and wipes your file system

>sudo apt install botnet

Ubuntu:
>open software store
>search software
>click install

Gross

I'm just trying to lower myself so wintards understand

Checkmate atheists!

Nah, he said his OS was his penis. The website with the installer is the hooker.

Yeah, now do the Windows method where you sign up with Adobe and shell out $100 a month.

What if you want to install a different version of the software?

Then you define the version you want.

Call me again once going windows doesn't double my battery life.

>sudo apt-get install program
>password?
>type password
>program not found
>sudo apt-get install program-stable
>program not found

>Find 3-4 commands required to install the damn thing that's not in the software store
>chmod involved
>sudo add-apt-repository ppa:etc
>now able to sudo apt-get install fuckme
>press y
>finally fucking installs
>doesn't work the way you want it requiring additional text editor changes to get what you want

>choco install -y
done

>open windows store
>search for software

It’s easy on Windows too

How? (If I'm not using Gentoo/Nix/Guix)

>Haha this proprietary adblocker protects my proprietary system, I'm so safe and have a good understanding of my PC.

Attached: tenor.gif (320x320, 1.85M)

>what is ublock origin
At least put in effort
In reality fucking templeOS does a better job of making you understand how your computer operates than GNU/Linux does

>windows store
I use Windows but come on now.

I see nothing wrong with the store, it solves the whole bull of having to keep websites in mind for software, there is no admin access need for installation so no chance of an infestation on install, shit also uninstalls cleanly

>it's another episode of retard doesn't know how to use sudo apt search (package)

>>Open browser

kitty

1. download installer form the official site
2. keep it for future
3. install it, avoid crapware

on linux your shitty terminal has problems to detect properly software you want to have, or can't locate package, or you must use few steps to even fucking install it

And, as fucking always, despite all of the advantages in the world, many people (including myself) will continue using wangblows because:

>vidya
>MS office
>other proprietary software such as Solidworks

And unfortunately it looks like Linux desktop will never be able to compensate for these shortcomings.

it won't solve the adware installer problem. It's a real issue with certain popular software, like CDisplayEx, if you don't tread carefully you get a fucking browser hijacker that's a nightmare to remove.

not as long as the battery management software has proprietary knowledge of the hardware that open source drivers can't access without reverse-engineering.

well if it's in a PPA then apt search wouldn't work until you add the repo.

imagine being this illiterate in comprehension

there's no reason to be reliant on MS office with perfectly good alternatives out there.

True, but if the package is too outdated, you pretty much have to do this same thing on Linux, which can be harder because some of the big-name download sites still don't do a very good job at keeping Linux versions available.

Even uBlock and the other good adblockers tend to miss some of the fake download buttons.

>open powershell
>choco install
>Type program into powershell to open
OP is a fag and those who took the bait are massive retards.

LibreOffice is absolute dogshit. LaTeX is very good for certain applications (e.g. I wrote my Master's thesis with LaTeX), but it can't always replace Word.

you can use the windows storeTM

I hope you mean uBlock Origin. And what other good ones aren't taken over and gutted by big companies?

Yes I do as a matter of fact.

sudo? on windows? or am I missing something?

Installing a program on Windows

>Download
>It just works

Installing a program on Linux

>Distro doesn't have the program or an alternative
>Have to build and compile for your own distro
>Or use Wine and it still might not work

I like Linux but I don't see myself using it as my primary OS for the foreseeable future.

Installing on windows.
>download
>click install
>done

install on Ubuntu
>open terminal
>sudo apt-get install program
>installs a bunch of other crap
>uninstall later
>dependency hell.

>still would have worked better on windows

Linux is dumb

can't speak for solidworks cause I have no idea what it is, but vidya and MS office are non-issues. There are a thousand better office programs for linux AND windows, and vidya hasn't been an issue since 2016. The only real issues with linux right now are driver support and CAD programs

Why are you calling admin privileges to search?

god i wish that were me

This only works if that thing you want is in the community already. Otherwise the makepkg takes as much time as finding and running the exe. More time actually

The only problem here is

>open terminal
>sudo apt install
>oh wait it's not available for linux
>I'll try wine
>nevermind it just does not work

This is why I'm running windows

habit bro, i don't type anything into terminal without sudo anymore

Imbecile

What the fuck are you thinking? That's right up there with just giving all user accounts full admin rights because you hate typing your password.

Installing a program on Ubuntu

>Open terminal
>cd /tmp
>mkdir tardedshit
>cd tardedshit
>wget github.com/tardedshit/master.zip
>unzip master.zip
>make
>missing library libProprietaryShit
>mkdir libProprietaryShit
>cd libProprietaryShit
>wget github.com/libProprietaryShit/master.zip
>unzip master.zip
>make
>missing library libLazyAssDevs
>mkdir libLazyAssDevs
>cd libLazyAssDevs
All this was good on paper, but apparently people cannot into makefiles.

Children are literally indoctrinated into Windows every grade. Why would someone use Linux when they've already used Windows their whole life.
