I’m using a 2600k with no issue

>not using the superior 4790k
*still running stronger after 5 years*

i don't care about overclocking, so i got 4771 instead. indeed, still running strong

I'm still using an AMD FX-6300 that cost 100$ and it's 6 years old and still runs all games without issues.

6700k here. Unless next gen consoles will change something, which I doubt, I have no reason to swap for years to come.

Move the fuck aside, /10yearsclub/ coming thru.

Same here. Might go 12 core Ryzen next year though. For the lulz.

Same here, but I'd much rather it ran at least 5°C cooler.

i5 2500k here, feel the 4 cores bottleneck in a lot of newer games. Best my chip will do is 4.4Ghz, 4.5 at a push but not overly stable due to motherboard (Asus p8z68v Gen3). Wish I had gone with the i7 just for the extra threads.

That's alright for an 8 year old CPU. Get an 8/12 core Ryzen next time 'round.

same only 4790k

I have the S version of the 4770, which runs at a lower 65w. It's coming up to 6 years old and still runs great. Other things have been upgraded but the ram, mobo and cpu are still the same.

Vaguely thinking of jumping ship to AMD's latest offering but the non existant stock and slight increase on the 3900x has stopped me for now.

I've got a 4770 because overclocking was scary in 2012. Been looking to replace it with a 4790k and they are more expensive second hand than a fkn brand new 4c/8t cpu.

why did they put feels guy on the box?

go get a used i7 from eBay im still running LGA 1155 but a i7 is like 115$ bucks and its sill chugging. i want to get a 1660ti like the one i bought my girl for frying her 970 but idk the 2060 looks lit

I don't do videogames, how long will my 9600k last

two weeks

Do you do anything intensive at all, like video or photo editing, rendering, etc? Probably two to three years max with an exponential decay in returns. Do you just shitpost on Jow Forums? Probably forever, since there are obviously people here still rocking stuff from last decade like Phenom II's and first gen i7 or Core2 Quads.

I have an i7-4810mq in my workstation laptop. Still runs strong until this day, only a 30%ish difference from a brand new i7-9750h, and it's stronger than the i7-8550u

Topkek. Money well spent.
AMDonkeys can go fuck themselves.

Is it still relevant today? My PSU blew like 3 years ago and I haven't touched mine since. Maybe I should replace the PSU and get it running again.

Running a Core 2 Duo E7400 and it still does light gaming and development fine until this day.

Even E8400 was obsolete for the past 5 years, at least upgrade it to a Q6600 or Q9550 or something.

2500k constant 100% lags
Moved to 3900x

pleb tier. i run my i7 920 @4.2Ghz since 2010. cunt just wont melt...

*still running hotter after 5 years*
ftfy

drop the K and a ram channel and I'm there

4670k running at 4.5ghz til it explodes. runs everything fine.

Still using a 2500K but I don't play the latest games. For general computer use its fine though.

Why don’t you donate that to a poor college female student instead?

Nope. It's rather cool, I replaced my thermal paste with a graphite thermal pad and it doesn't even get to 70°c now using prime95.

8th gen was average in temps, but 9th gen runs hot.

4.2 here but everything is peachy

Think I can get it to 4.6 GHz with proper cooling?

Attached: Untitled.png (405x615, 53K)

you poor thing.

you can't reach 100% speed with pcsx2 on fx processor

I just went to 3700X from a 4790k.

Attached: 1566338226720.png (501x445, 192K)

I had to upgrade because the 6700k was slowing my GPU down

Get a proper CPU instead

I've still got 2 i7 3930k's performing like champs under ubuntu, nothing wrong with older CPU's, it's all marketing bullshit and epeening 12 year olds that will tell you they're worthless.

i have a 10yo AMD Athlon Phenom II X6 1090T (6-core) and it still runs everything quite fine. it even runs about 2-3 degrees cooler than ambient room temps. then again i'm not a gaymer modding out a block game with 8k textures while streaming his cam and gameplay. it is probably good for another 10 years.

How did you convince your CPU to break the laws of physics?

>10 years
Delusional poor people lmao.

I had the Intel processor that came out just before the iX series of processors - it lasted me 8 years. Then I came here to /pcbg/ for advice - what Intel should I get guys ? :)
Everybody scream - u no get Intel retard !
I was like yeah, right sure.
Then they went and explained that AMD is now the best processor on the market and it's better to always buy the best. So now I have a Zen processor.
RIP Intel PC

i7 6700k n a gtx 980 for 4 years

Attached: kong.png (552x524, 504K)

Based 4790k bro

Based, same

budi tih namefag-u

>i5 4690k
>can't even get it above 4.0 ghz
good thing I only use it for shitposting and anime

Attached: 1566724577985.jpg (1280x852, 159K)

It has a beefy cooler and heat pump. It can go far lower, but then condensation would start clinging to everything.

>proper cooling is $120
>proper CPU is $500 + mobo + RAM
>proper cooling can be used in potential future build with proper CPU
hmmm

That sucks man I've got a 4690k at 4.4

>i7-7700K @ 4.7GHz
>GTX 1070
lucky 7s are where it's at

>new intel 10th gen is just another rehash again
>will need new mobo with new chipset AGAIN
OH NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

Looks like this punk motherfucker got clowned.

I still have a 2500k but will replace it with an 3700x in a month

I replaced my 2500k with a Ryzen 2600 a while back. it's so fast bros

if you think a 4770k is still 'running strong' that says a lot about you as a computer user. Maybe you should stick to phones.

I'm still running an i7 860 for 10 years on my daily driver

Just replaced my 5960X with a R9 3900X. Did I fuck up?

I would say that even my 4690k is still running strong.

Yeah you should have replaced it with an i7-4770k like the thread suggests.

How come these never have the 3570K on them?

Who invited the spambot?

Just delap it bro

Yeah if you just do shitposting on Jow Forums, your CPU will pretty much last forever.
I'm posting on a Bentium 4 right now.

Just buy a chiller bro

Just ignore the security patches bro

Attached: AC.png (526x505, 12K)

It's still running, and really that's about all you can say about it. I have a 4770k with 32GB of ram sitting in the corner that my toddler plays computer on, really that is about all it's good for after all these years.

No, you did the smart thing

Fucking gaymers. Like I said if you think the 4770k is still a strong processor it says a lot about (You)

Just wait for 10nm+++ bro

Attached: civ VI.png (528x505, 12K)

Just wait for 10GHz secret sauce bro

Attached: sotr.jpg (1019x606, 119K)

It should be slower than a 4670K and faster than a 2500K

Just wait for new uarch bro

Attached: re2.jpg (1016x613, 121K)

Looks like the punk motherfucker who got clowned is spamming his GPU bottlenecked benchmarks to help him cope.

Have an 8086K but I put my old 3570K in my little bros pc and it's still going strong

Just wait for sunny cope in 2022 bro

Just wait bro...........

Attached: 1562534167877.jpg (1920x1080, 213K)

Zen 2 is slower in 99% of cases

Still sort of relevant but mostly because you can buy 6-core xeons for $15. Won't keep up with anything remotely modern and the lack of platform features like USB 3 and sata 3 sucks but it's not bad if all you need is a $50 PSU.

Salty intelfag.You don't need patches

Look at this punk motherfucker trying to cope.

Just enjoy the intelfag tears. He has buyer's remorse, he just got pranked and jewed into buying intel pozzed stuttering housefires.

Attached: 1563484213297.png (640x480, 76K)

lol nice fake news

>responding to punk motherfuckers who got clowned

$ lscpu | grep 'Model name'
Model name: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz

Works just fine, does everything I need.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YOU EVIL AMD NAZIS STOP WITH THIS ANTISEMITISM

Attached: 1563455436921.jpg (1035x1000, 189K)

We all know Bulldozer is better than intel pozzed housefires, but will 10nm save them?

Indeed, the projection is very strong.

Infact, he is the "punk motherfucker"

Why can't Intel stop being pozzed shit?
