X250 on a dock with kb, mouse, screen and 3 external hdd's. I just pop it out and use it for uni. Put it back when i get home and use it as a desktop until i get a proper unit.

it's my main computer in my father's country side house.
I have newsboat configured to play YouTube in 360p (mpv), so I watch videos of my favorite youtubers, I also listen to music (new tool album is awesome!!!) and podcasts.
I can program, write... basically everything but play (I never play) edit videos and things like that.
Also in the country house I am normally working in the vineyard and I don't have time to walk on the computer

How do you even use a laptop comfortably? I bought one that I like. 15w cpu, 13.3" 1080p display, centered keyboard and track pad. I've used it like 4 times since i bought it in late 2016.
Sit on the couch with it and your neck hurts looking down at it. Lay in bed with it and your neck hurts looking forward at it. Lay on your stomach and again neck hurts. Lay on your side and your arm starts to go numb. Only comfortable way to use it is at a desk but I have a desktop for that.

I get it. Such a shame. When I was a child I upgraded from a p4 2.4ghz 1c1t 512mb desktop to a core 2 duo laptop. It strictly replaced the desktop. I used it in a recliner and sometimes at the kitchen table. I bought this thinking the same thing would happen but no matter what I do in my house it's not as comfy as the desktop.
You are right, using it in your lap is dumb. I don't leave the house much(for example my phone is wifi only) so it makes sense.
Shame really, I can really appreciate the hardware and design of laptops and have a few I would love to own.

Wouldn't recommend buying a gaming laptop. I have this dell 7577 and even though it had really good specs for the money the videocard started overheating after a year of use. Got a gaming pc after and it was 10x better and now I'm kinda stuck with this meme laptop that I don't even play games on any more. I'd rather get a decent gaming pc and some regular biz laptop for work.
