I did, CS Undergrad, CS Masters and I'm now doing a CS PhD which I'll finish probably around the end of next year or beginning of 2021. Dream job, idk, I really enjoy my research but teaching at a uni is a minefield nowadays because you have to do welfare type stuff despite all the students being literal adults. I would love a research position in industry.

>inb4 Jow Forums is mad at programming guides saying C isn't that great of a language and say it was made by dilating trannies

>Emergency Medicine
>I wanted to become a physician, but after retaking my secondary school exit exam and failing to get enough points I gave up
>project manager at an e-payment company after 16 months of "application support".
>i make 5x the money than I would be making as a pararmedic so I'm pretty gucci. I fucking hate computers but it's better than being unemployed

>none
>webdev
>wevdev
>lots of free time and a non-stressful job that provides more money than any other job in my country

>What was your Major if you did get a degree
Graphic Design

>What was your dream job
Something creative

>What job are you currently in?
Frontend dev with some UX Design

>What do you think so far?
Feels like getting paid for a hobby lol

Electrical engineering
Something relating to Solid state technology like microchip fabrication or whatnot

Commissioned in the military

It's not bad, lots of random BS but otherwise I enjoy it

>Welfare stuff

>>What was your Major if you did get a degree

>>What job are you currently in?
Internal tools developer at faang
>>What do you think so far?
I fucking hate Bay Area

>none
>embedded and desktop dev

>wtf am i doing with my life

>What was your Major if you did get a degree

>computer forensics, dropped out in final year

>love my job - busy but easy enough that I can finish each day with energy left. still working on game dev / audio but purely as a hobby

>Network Security, CS minor
>Research, the more theoretical and mathy the better
>A "developer specialist" on a platform engineering project
>I dont get to code all day erryday but when I do it's in whatever language I want however I want to do it

Increasingly they want lecturers to be a point of contact for students with their personal issues. You can usually hand them off to other departments but its creating a gray area where students can blame academics for stuff well outside their remit.

>What was your Major if you did get a degree
Automation (Control theory, electronics)

>What was your dream job
Embedded electronics, robotics, anything in my field

>What job are you currently in?
Telecommunications (real job)
Electronics repair (gray market)

>What do you think so far?
Since i live in 3rd world country my degree is useless since all real work is outsourced to 2nd world EU countries like Germany, Austria, Sweden, etc. and we get to do only documentations and field work.
After all of work i did in my real field now i get to copy paste shit in AutoCAD for 700$/month. And that's considered a great job here.
Can't start a company because of harsh tax laws and overall economical-political situation of country.

Another question for this thread, what languages/technologies are you using at work?

I'm extending a codebase in Java with Clojure mainly but I also use a lot of Python.

>What was your Major if you did get a degree

>What was your dream job

>What job are you currently in?

>What do you think so far?
Why am i a brainlet? I think I really do have adhd

>bay area
is it worth moving to Commiefornia for work like all my peers? I would rather stay in Ireland and settle for 60k a year than go to that shitho'e but everyone acts as though it's mandatory.

>What was your Major if you did get a degree
Haven't got one yet but plan to. Have no idea what major I want.
>What was your dream job
Working in intelligence for the NSA/FBI
>What job are you currently in?
Navy cryptologist
>What do you think so far?
Love the job but hate all the military bullshit.

Glow freely my friend

>What was your Major if you did get a degree
economics with stats minor
>What was your dream job
being a NEET
>What job are you currently in?
analytics product manager
>What do you think so far?
its a ton of work but I like it a lot better than my old job (data scientist) because you decide what to build

Only if you're guaranteed at least $100k and a full position with real company and solid perks package (health insurance a must), not a contractor middleman. And even that only if you're ok with living in currynigger town with 1 hour commute each way to the nearest real employee and eating instant noodles every day.
It's hell here, the only reason to come here is saving up money and fucking back off to some livable place. And getting a good prestige entry in your CV from one of faang or something else that everyone and your mother may recognize.

>>What was your Major if you did get a degree
