Iphone is better than android. It's locked down, but not much more than android, and I have a laptop with me 80% of the time that I can use for any real computing needs.
The legion of retards buying a new $1000 model every year ensures that Apple can make its profits without spying. That's the big advantage of it.

The secret to making it easy is to not do much with a phone. Treat the thing like a landline. I have a phone flashed with gappsless Lineage, and I didn't even bother with the MicroG crap. It sits on my desk when I go out and all it really does is run Signal. Which handles messaging and voice calls, really the only things you should be using a phone for.

This is a consequence of the fact that the carriers are hostile, and sell location information to basically anyone who asks, gleaned from which towers can hear your phone. No phone can defend against that whenever its not in airplane mode - not an iPhone, not a stock Android, not a flashed Android, not that fancy Librem phone that will supposedly exist soon. And if you're gonna keep your phone in airplane mode you might as well not bother taking it. People forget that up until ten years ago everybody lived like that - if someone called or messaged or whatever, well, you'd see it when you got home, and call back then.

Just buy an iPhone, Android is fucking garbage.

Yes, there is one I can think of: Android allows user-land to view MAC addresses. If I use my iphone to scan my home LAN, I get hosts IPv4's & v6's but no MAC address. Not him but the maim crux of bluetooth audio codecs is it has to encode lossless audio and then quickly be decoded by a pair of bluetooth headphones in less than 1 ms while using virtually 0 battery life (why music playback on a modern smartphone through bluetooth is 24-72 hours).

This comes with a price of lower quality audio even at exceedingly high 500kbps high latency formats. Compare this to relatively computational expensive (for a phone) Opus audio encoded with level 10 compression (most aggressive audio artifact masking).

The only way around all this is to just losslessly send 16-bit 48KHz sampled audio from the phone to the bluetooth headset but this increases the latency to above 1,000ms AND reduces range to inches instead of feet.
