Anyone here have experience with SSRIs? If so did they help you at all?

no they stole my drinks

yes and yes but it takes a while

Did you get side effects? All I can feel are side effects at the moment...

like what are you feeling?

I've been used like a lab rat most of my life,
so I've taken all kinds of meds,
but I don't think I'm on any SSRI anymore.
I'm diagnosed with Schizoaffective Disorder.

I take Gabapentin, Mirtazapine, and Risperidone.

its case specific you can never ask someone else and expect the same result to happen to you, essentially just try them and if they do something too fukky then you can just sue the person who prescribed them to you

Insomnia, shaking, fidgeting, mood swings, fatigue to the point that I can't even sit up most of the day...
I had an this intense bout of manic euphoria yesterday.
And I constantly feel like I'm dreaming. I have loss of feeling in my limbs. And I can't think.
I dunno if this is because of the pills or if it's just a coincidence, because most of these things I have had before, but the fact that they all came on at once after starting it makes me wonder...

checked

And haven't noticed any improvement in my mood or anxiety... I mostly just feel, like flat, not bad but not good either.

I know I was just wondering about others' experience with them.

Do those drugs help you?

>Do those drugs help you?
The Gabapentin helps my mood and Mirtazapine definitely helps me sleep.
I don't know if the Risperidone does anything,
but I take it anyway. It doesn't give me any side effects, so that's always a plus.

I never had that happen,
I take something else for anxiety but i dont take it because i fall alseep everytime i do, and i get sleep paralysis when i do take it

I see.. I wonder if I should go back to the doctor or just keep going and see if it improves...
Does what you take help your anxiety?

I've been on 4 different SSRI/SNRI
Currently on effexor. It numbs my emotions slightly.

What I took was Xanax for anxiety, I got switched to something else with a similar chemical composition, how long has this been going on for?

I only started two days ago...

if it stays the same then yeah id go see the doctor, I hope you get better britfren

Who prescribed you?
A psychiatrist?
A general doctor?

You need to go to some one specialized or you get fucked

SRRI usually take like 10 days before they start being effective

General one, he gave it me in like 5 minutes. Should I go to a specialised one instead?

Thank you fren

If all you feel are side effects, see if the doctor will switch to something else. There are so many SSRIs that you can find one that meshes with your personal chemistry better.
For me, sexual side effects were the biggest thing and I switched a few times until I got one that wasn’t as good with anxiety, but got the job done. And would let me fap peacefully.

False. That's completly wrong.

>Should I go to a specialised one instead?
Yes. Absolutely. I wouldn't take mide altering drugs from a general doc that fondles balls and fixes runny noses.

How SSRI usually work:
You get prescribed a tiny tiny dose.
You take it for 1 week.
If you dont get any bad side effecrts, you increase the dose (usually double or more).
Then you wait a few weeks or a month and see how you feel. SSRI takes 1 month or more to actually work.

Ah yes, sexual side effects... I have those too, but it doesn't bother me.

Okay, I will see if I can find one. Appointment times here suck though so it might be a while. Thanks for the advice~

Sounds scary. Please be careful!

im on paxil and to make things short and simple, i now have low libido but it doesnt bother me and when i actually do get hard i have a weird issue that when im about to cum i lose it and it feels like i have to start over. on top of that if i stop taking it i get brain zaps.

TLDR: my pee pee dont work

Attached: 1542043194764.png (330x328, 89K)

The plus side is you can last forever due to the inability to cum.

Mental illness is a joke. Just go get laid.

when im about to cum i lose it and it feels like i have to start over
Yeah, I have that too.
My libido is already low, and other stuff will make it so as well. But it's kind of weird...

Getting laid isn't the end-all be-all of life

i found that taking my medicine at night helps.

I heard you're supposed to take them at the same time each day aren't you? Would it be okay to switch it over like that?
I wonder... I have quite bad insomnia too.

i have really bad memory issues so i have flip flopped the time i take them quite a bit seems to just make me feel tired if i do that too much. if you get that sour stomach feeling id take them before bed, it really helped me.

Attached: 1533277735547.jpg (342x316, 55K)

i've been on several throughout my life, sometimes in combination with each other. i mostly take them to sleep nowadays, as i dont feel quite as much anxiety throughout the day - mostly because i'm a neet who aims to keep everything about my life as stress free as possible. but yeah, like others have said, if you got it from a general doctor you should not fucking trust anything he/she said. you need a psych evaluation at the very least. it's also a slow acting drug that needs to be in your system a decent amount of time before you feel the effects

I was diagnosed with anxiety disorder by a psychiatrist years ago, but never did anything with that.
Should I have gone back to a specialist before starting this time around?

Okay, if that happens I will try before bed. Thanks for the advice~

no problem man, if all else fails tell your doctor to either change your meds or prescribe Viagra or an equivalent

Attached: 1532042378664.png (360x490, 128K)

Goodnight guys, thank you for your help~

Attached: 1526610766356.png (1168x827, 683K)

unless you have a very extreme condition like schizophrenia, they're bad. These drugs have rather extreme effects and really aren't something you should be taking for an issue that can be managed otherwise

Nite britfren

I didn't help, but good night and good luck.

Yes, and yes, definitely. I've been on multiple antidepressants, not at the same time however. Currently I'm on Lexapro.
Medication definitely helps with anxiety and depression, but only if you yourself can make positive changes in your life along with the medication.

>Get on a regular sleep schedule, try to go to sleep and wake up at the same time every day, and try to wake up in the morning, and go to sleep at night, instead of waking up midday and going to sleep when the sun's beginning to rise
>Get 3 good healthy meals a day; get enough fiber, enough protein, not too much sugar, not too much sodium
>Drink water, try to finish at least one 500ml water bottle daily
>Get exercise; if you don't like to go outside, get some weights, open a window, and lift heavy weights every other day
>Take showers and shave, if you feel clean, you'll feel refreshed
>Don't masturbate every day, orgasm causes a release in prolactin, which drains the body of dopamine; try to make masturbation irregular, meaning not on a set schedule, and instead somewhat random and spontaneous
>Rearrange your room once in a while, changing the scenery can go a long way in helping your mood

>Become your own friend. Don't hate yourself. You're not as bad as your mind thinks you are; the human brain wants to eat its host alive. It WILL torture you. It will make you feel like you're worthless, but you're not. No human is irredeemable. No sin is unforgivable. It will be okay.

Man I've been cripplingly depressed for at least half a decade now because I'm postponing it's treatment alongside with all other life decisions in fear of a drug treatment being the only "solution" available. Don't know how long it's possible to postpone, I feel like the days are reaching some sort of a limit inch by inch. Don't know what to do with it either. I wish OP all the best though and hope things go well.

SEE A FUCKING PSYCHIATRIST
You can't keep waiting, you're suffering for no reason. You deserve to feel better. Make an appointment immediately. If you do it today, in 10 years, you'll be happy that you did now, rather than in 2020, or 2021, or so on.

Yeah, cause sex will cure OCD.

Also, don't fucking drink alcohol. Not only is alcohol a depressant, which will exacerbate your problems, but SSRIs and alcohol have negative interactions and can kill you.
