I have a rooted chinkphone, that now decided to ramdomly turn the screen off. The Mi logo shows up and lights the screen when booting, and i have no problems accessing TWRP, however, when actually using the phone, it will turn the screen off, even though the OS is still active. Anyone knows what could be causing this behaviour? I've already wiped the phone.

How can I estimate the bandwidth required to share my screen wirelessly and seamlessly on another computer monitor? Can I just do 1920x1080 pixels times 32 bits/pixel times 60 frames per second? And what about image compression, would that play any role?

I'm trying to remember an old password, and I need something to combine two lists of words with, so if I had "alpha, bravo, charlie..." in one list and "111, 222, 333" in the other, it would create a list of "alpha111, Alpha111, alpha222, Alpha222, alpha333, Alpha333, bravo111...", anyone know something simple that doesn't require me to code it myself

that just sounds like a simple nested for loop in a python script

I have my file explorer set up to always open maximized but it never does and i have to do it manually every time, why isnt it working?

Asked this on /sci/ maybe Jow Forums knows: . Maybe Octave? Idk.

Attached: 1564135908438.jpg (400x400, 29K)

matlab?

>Octave
>matlab
they are almost the same.
try octave, because octave is oss and free.
what are the advantages of shit like python?
you download octave or matlab and everything is there. with python you have to check some pytard's library to see if there's the functionality you want and then install it.

I want to combine together ~500 10 sec .ts clips into one video.
how do I combine them all with gstreamer or something similar?

Hey guys, I have a 32gb micro sd card and a sony xperia xa1 (G3112) phone.
The phone will not "see" the sd card and there are no formatting options available for it.

HELP! (Thanks.)

I know, but I'd rather have something already made with a GUI than spend an afternoon fiddling with code trying to remember my Python classes for such a simple task

Looking for a used cheap 8 core xeon that doesn't idle at 200W. What range should I start looking for?

something like this?
with open("words.txt") as wordsfile:
words = wordsfile.read().split('\n')
with open("nums.txt") as numsfile:
nums = numsfile.read().split('\n')

with open("result.txt",'a+') as result:
for word in words:
for num in nums:
result.write(word+num+'\n')

write two text files with each word on a new line and put them in the same folder as the .py

is the font too big

Thanks user, you're a lifesaver

What's the best free IRC client for Windows 10? Hexchat made me jump through a bunch of hoops to set up an account to link to the app store, and even after all of that I get a message saying I don't have any applicable devices.

no problem. Feels nice to finally do something useful with my programming classes

Is there a Jow Forums approved method of recovering data from drives turned RAW?

So I just installed a Sapphire Radeon 5700 XT in my machine. Driver's installed just fine and it benchmarks like a champ. However, I noticed that none of my hardware monitoring tools seem to be able to monitor the card. Like they recognize it but doing bring up any data on things like clock speed, temps or fan speed. The AMD performance tools however, do report back all that data. So the hardware sensors are working. Could it just be because the card is new and I need to wait for my tools to update?

anyone got suggestions

So, I know that using pip to install packages system-wide is a bad idea, but I need a python library my distribution doesn't package and I need it available system-wide because a script executed by root depends on it.
What should I do?

if testdisk doesn't work it's gone for good.
restore from backup ;--)

user the best way would be to try streaming and just measuring that.

There could be a bunch of factors that make the actual result different from your calculation. E.g. different codecs or compression, different software might send different metadata, etc

>had a folder with some images downloaded from Jow Forums
>files got corrupted but still have the unix timestamp filenames
Anyone know of a way to find these images in the archives?

They were all from the last year but from 4-5 different boards, I managed to find some by Googling the filenames, but they only show up if someone reposted the image with the timestamp filename from the original post, even though the images in the original posts have the same filename when you open them in a separate tab.

I tried hunting them down by searching for images posted at the same second but very few show up and the archive search results seem flawed. Most archives keep the images under the original timestamp filenames in the URL, but they are prefixed by some arbitrary-looking paths (e.g. instead of storing it as site.com/1638492.jpg, it's stored as site.com/479/3638/1638492.jpg) so I can't just directly look for them, and half the board archives don't have search enabled.

The function you're looking for is pretty close to Zip.

zip [1, 2, 3] [a, b, c] => [(1, a), (2, b), (3, c)]

In python you could get ur desire behavior with a list comprehension
[str(a) + str(b) for (a,b) in zip(xs, ys)]

NVM this is completely wrong you want nested for loops.

I'd first troubleshoot by seeing if other devices can read the 32gb microsd card.
Do you have a microsd USB reader?
They usually come with microsd cards

Maybe the card needs to be formatted on ur pc first for the phone to r wcognize

What's up with wine?

What can I use to download videos from places like Pornhub?

youtube-dl

It didn't want to detect it. I use firefox

huh?

I'm talking about stuff behind a login paywall on sites like Pornhub Premium etc. I also run Windows 10.

yea that's fine, you just need to tell youtube-dl your login details so it can access restricted pages

Does it need my fuckin social security number too?

if you paid for the video, youtube-dl can use your login.
i'm assuming you didn't, so your best bet is looking for a torrent (pornolab/empornium/etc)

I "paid" for access to the website, but the website charges additional for downloads.
Case in point: Brazzers lets you download as long as you're a member, but TrueAmateurs makes you pay for downloads.

no, just the username and password
for the exact same reason you need to write it into firefox when visiting the site

The problem is The website has a premium, but then they want $20 a month to download their videos.

What's a good wireless card for Bluetooth? I'm trying to build a rig to use for my living room and I want it to have Bluetooth controller support, as well as being able to handle a PC, headphones, and a keyboard. I don't really care about a fast bandwidth for WiFi (there's an Ethernet port in the living room) but I'd like to minimize input lag for the controller.

while i've never paid for porn before, i'm certain youtube-dl won't cause you additional charges
what would be the point if it downloaded the videos the same way you could by paying?
you need to log into certain websites just to be able to view the video in your browser, youtube-dl downloads these ones, and you still need to login for it

I don't doubt it won't cause me additional charges, My issue is I don't know if it will work. You're saying it grabs the video that you stream and downloads it that way? I'll give it a shot and report back.

Reposting from last thread

Anyone have any experience in cloud support engineering? What's it like as a job? Just took an entry level position in it to get out of admin work but have no idea what I'm in for

>You're saying it grabs the video that you stream and downloads it that way?
yes, that's it's purpose, many sites like youtube don't allow downloads at all, hence why this program exists
the websites are still websites though, so youtube-dl still needs to download and parse the web pages, like a browser, the only difference is that instead of displaying the video, it puts it onto your disk
but, again, for sites that won't let you see the video without logging in, you need to tell youtube-dl your login details so it can grab the web page and video (the one you "view")

there's a ~47gb trueamateurs siterip on pornolab, but it's from 2017. if it's some specific/recent video, you might not get around paying for it (or getting really lucky on spankbang or some ddl forum).

anyway, unless you really want to support some less-known actress, don't pay for porn. come on, mate. there's petabytes of free porn on the web.

Can anyone recommend me a good 1440p monitor for everyday office-like use and videos, with maybe some light gaming, preferably under $500

Video came out yesterday

I posted about this in the last thread, wondering if anyone else has tried to install hardware accelerated MPV on their Raspberry Pi?

I'm using an RPi 3 Model B. I'm using this guide, which apparently will take 57 minutes of compiling, and I'm having to blow a fan at the thing so it doesn't overheat: raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=199775

I don't have a totally fresh install of Raspbian (I installed RetroPie, for instance) but I'm hoping it will work anyway. If it doesn't then I'll just install a fresh copy of Raspbian and try again.

Just wondering if others have tried it though. In fact I just found another guide that apparently works on Raspbian 10 Buster, whereas I'm using a guide that runs on Raspbian 9 Stretch, which is what I have. Maybe I'll try this one if the current one fucks up: raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=245574

Attached: raspberry pi.png (493x620, 37K)

if you're willing to drop a name, i'm willing spend a few minutes looking for a download. or ask

It's Indigo White though on TrueAmateurs she goes by JUST Indigo.

I might be retarded but it doesnt SEEM like it wants to work, OR i'm missing a step

I'm having trouble deleting certain files on Windows 10. For some reason, this problem only affects audio files like mp3 and ogg. Whenever I try to do any file operations like moving, deleting, etc., explorer would not progress with the operation. What's the problem with my installation?

no luck, not even with reverse image search. sorry, mate. i tried. either wait for a few days and check puplic trackers (rarbg seems get some uploads from that site), pay for it or ask Jow Forums

apparently youtube-dl doesn't support the site at all. i didn't check, since someone else suggested it.
ytdl-org.github.io/youtube-dl/supportedsites.html

I can't get it to grab off pornhub premium either, because post login there is a redirect page.

Attached: file.png (1453x119, 20K)

with more testing, i found that anything involving the .opus file extension, for whatever reason, fucks up my entire system for some reason

youporn.com/uservids/7610895/ph-daisyfairymfc/
best i can do so you don't get blue balls all day

I appreciate it. I'm trying to be able to provide torrents for others, so at least I've got youtube-dl up and running now. Thank you.

One more stupid question, why is my download speed so slow on youtube-dl? I usually average 100 Mbits/second plus, but i'm not even hitting 1 MiB

Attached: file.png (481x24, 2K)

>provide torrents for others
doing god's work

a ton of sites cap the download speed in youtube-dl, you can try the following
github.com/ytdl-org/youtube-dl/blob/master/README.md#readme
--http-chunk-size SIZE Size of a chunk for chunk-based HTTP
downloading (e.g. 10485760 or 10M) (default
is disabled). May be useful for bypassing
bandwidth throttling imposed by a webserver
(experimental)

How do I go on about automating the process of exporting and importing chrome/ie passwords and bookmarks ?

Is it possible to use Xorg if the kernel was compiled with CONFIG_VT=n?
I feel like it's supposed to work, but xinit keeps trying to open /dev/tty0, and I can't find anything about that.

What are some nonshit blocklists for pihole?

I've got an HP ML310E. It's got an atx 350w psu.

If down the road the psu shits can I just drop in any antec atx psu 400w from newegg and it'll boot up fine or did HP fuck with the standard? Just wondering

i see that kotlin is now the default language in android studio. is it worth learning if im very familiar with java already? is there any significant limitation in one language or the other?

Dell at least has a proprietary motherboard power connector which needs an adapter, so it's possible HP is doing the same shit.

Do you know a place for buying cheap HDDs? (not necessarily new ones, at least with quite low usage history)

Can someone explain typedefs to me?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Typedef

What specifically are you looking for? 3.5" or 2.5"? You'll have to go the long route and really check every listing for multiple HDDs (weed out people that are just selling a one off item) and hope they include something in the description.
If not then you'll have to message the seller and see if he can be bothered to send a SMART readout.
I've had some decent luck so far on ebay, it's worth keeping an eye out for.

How often should I change my thermal paste on the MBOARD and the graphics card?

Attached: awooworried.png (480x580, 263K)

What the fuck happend to my monitor lads I woke up this morning and found like this. I tried changing my DP to Hdmi but still the same result. It's wierd how to bottom half is pixeli and flickering slightly

Attached: aoc.jpg (4128x3096, 2.97M)

there's no reason to do that ever.

Too much cock porn

Hey Jow Forums, Ive been wanting to buy a laptop just to do light webbrowsing and extremely low end games on the go. This would be for travel only as I already have a desktop PC.
The options im looking at are the Acer A515-43-R19L and the HP 14-dk0024wm
I was wondering if anyone knew how good these were, especially the quality of their cooling.

1)Should I put my IQ in my CV? I got tested irl at Mensa and I got a very good score. I think doing it might be spergy. (Please don't debate IQ, idc if it's important or not, only if it increases my chances of getting a jerb)
2)Same question but for WPM. Sounds even more spergy but I saw some example resumes and some bitch added hers while only having 70 wpm, I have 120.

...

I know paid VNPs are more recommended, and im not a poorfag, but I really want to use a VNP and at least to start, better use a free one. Any recommendations for free VNPs? Any advice or warning I should take for them?

It never dries? I'm asking becuase I'm about to shutdown, and do some dust removal.

So I bought this new CPU cooler: nox-xtreme.com/producto/h-120/214/

The speed of the fan is 1600 RPM, is that the regular speed or the top speed? I don't know if the speed is accelerated or if this is the normal speed. I already asked to the store and they said me to check the BIOS to see if the fan is accelerated. I don't know how to access the BIOS in Windows 10 though. Can anyone tell me if this is the normal speed? Thank you.

Just don’t

Isn't it called VPN? I only have used the one that comes with Kaspersky Free. It has a limit of data.

>better use a free one
Hell no. VPNs are a questionable idea in general, but fucking never use a free one. You're giving them a wide open backdoor to your PC, and sharing all your network traffic with someone who literally has to make enough use of it to at least break even on the bandwidth you've used.

If you wan't to pirate, get a seedbox. Otherwise just accept that online privacy has fundamental limits.

1) No, if you are an active member you can put the mensa membership
2) if you're a secretary sure otherwise no

How risky is to install linux on a storage hdd? I don't want to wipe all my shit because i wanted to use Linux. Also, Mint or Fedora for vidya? And is 30-40gb enough for lightweight games (storage-wise) and web browsing?

Attached: 1567443953114.png (400x384, 124K)

Maybe it just died of old age bro. Recently something similar happened to me with my old iPhone4. The night before it was ok but next day in the morning the home button stopped working. Just like that, without any hit or anything. I tried cleaning it with alcohol because I read it could be accumulated dirt that was interfering with the contact but it didn't work. Trying to change it personally is out of consideration because you have to literally dissemble all the phone just to change the home button. Now I have to use it with a virtual home button in the screen that is a pain in the ass. Anyway, this phone is going to totally die or I won't be able to even use WhatsApp in it soon so who cares. Recently I received a warning in WhatsApp telling me that in february 2020 I won't be able to use WhatsApp in this phone.

It's not the backdoor, it's the frontdoor, but otherwise you are completely right.
One of the primary reasons to use TLS is to make it more difficult for your ISP to spy on what you do. Don't put some random faggot with a server into the position of your ISP.
By the way, what makes you think that just because you pay for a service, that service will not abuse your traffic?

Made a post in the previous thread, asking about getting a 2.5 SATA SSD drive for a laptop, I responded to a comment here:
Wanted to know if for that Inspiron 15 7000 gaming series laptop, which is Windows 10, if it could handle a 1TB 2.5 SATA SSD drive, rather than an HDD.

Thanks

So what you want? To let anyone see my static IP naked? Im not super paranoid about privacy, but I have been searching the net without protection for too long. The least I could do would be at least to get some privacy or security. Only option besides VNP for at least some protection is TOR, but lookstoo restricting, and I think TOR posting here on Jow Forums is not permited.
If even VPN, even premiun ones, arent that trusted, then what then?

>then what then?
Be a good boy and don't search nothing racist, go to the cinema and pay for the movies and subscribe to Disney+, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video to watch your tv series.

...

Jow Forums approved VM. I just need to mess around in windows maybe Linux too, nothing serious

vmware is bretty gud.

if im hosting a TOR node, is it illegal to spy on these retards?

>then what
Don't forget to login to your Google account or have a smart device on the same subnet, so Google can associate your Jow Forums(nel) posts with your identity.

>talk with normal people about how Google greets you with your first name after entering your username when logging in, if they are pretty much sure it's you
>they have never seen that
Do normal people seriously NEVER log out (while their cookies are good until 2038)?

You have to be hosting an exit node to know anything about where the traffic is going and even then it'll probably be protected by HTTPS.

You also really don't want to host an exit node if you don't want funny questions from your ISP.

If I delete ALL drivers pertaining to my laptop camera and microphone, is there any chance at all I could be monitored through these devices without my knowing so? Running W10.

but if anything i should have a log of addresses right? like a guy is visiting pornhub.com, i may not know the guy but i know some guy is going there

No one?

If you aren't the exit node: No.
You do realize how onion routing works?
The only node seeing the ultimate destination is the exit node.
Everyone in-between only knows the nodes before and after.
