Consider that this laptop has been through goodness only knows what, is basically destroyed, and is showing the Windows 7 welcome screen. Pretty sure this isn't an exploded battery picture either. The damage doesn't look consistent with that. It looks more consistent with some numbnut setting it on a stove.
