what's a good arch derived? had to install Arch recently and it was annoying, but didn't find anything else decent with updated packages except maybe Fedora and people said it was hell to get repositories for everything

I should have worded that better, the main point is using arch repos so ideally the distro would be with that in mind. something like manjaro uses their own, which is why I liked antergos. it was essentially just an arch installer but was discontinued. theoretically the installer should work fine well into the future, you'll just have to update all of the packages afterwards

Try Manjaro, I've been using it for a out 8 months as my daily driver and everything is great. The GUI installer works really well and let me dual boot with another OS and have it installed in 10 minutes. If you are on the stable update branch you are a few weeks behind Arch because they test packages so they don't break your system. But if you really wanna live on the edge just switch to the unstable branch and you're good to go.

The Arch elitists get mad at Manjaro because "Why don't you just read the wiki and install it yourself?" And that's because I don't want to potentially fuck something up when an installer will do everything I want. Then they say "If you don't want your system to break, just read the Arch forums before every single update and check your packages" and to that I say definitely fuck no. I don't have time for that, I prefer Manjaro spoon feeding me like a baby safe things so I can focus my time on actually important things in my life. It works great and I'd recommend it user, best of luck

As this user said, it's two weeks behind. But Arch updates so frequently with it's rolling release schedule that you might as well be on the bleeding edge. I prefer stable because once I was on unstable and I had to spend a day fixing my audio drivers. Now I've been on stable for about half a year and I've had no problems at all, the price I pay for being two weeks behind Arch elitists
