MS DOS

>needs to be rebooted every couple of days or it crashes
>comfy

not either of these shitheaps

this is the most comfy OS

The real answer.

I found a comfy tower with Windows 95 installed. It sounded like a turbo jet, so I cloned the HDD to a newer one (BIOS forced me to cap it at 32GB) and I swapped out the PSU. I fortunately hoard things so I had the 66MHz memory to upgrade from 32MB to 256MB.
I love it. Everything is so accessible, and the best part: direct DOS. Now I have a machine to properly play my collection of DOS-ROMs games .

Classic Mac was the comfiest. Sure it had a ton of technical issues, but every GUI design decision made sense.

my win10 laptop still makes this sound when booting

I'll agree with the comfy, but as someone who has a Powermac with 7.5.5 loaded on to it, OH BOY the technical issues are fucking real
Far easier to troubleshoot Win98/DOS when shit goes south with an application IMO

Unironically Vista. 98SE Plus is also a good contender.

Windows 10

Debian Stable with XFCE.

Unironically Win98 or XP.
Good things are small and simple.

Haiku

>simple
I absolutely detest that heavily processed feel with Windows Current Year. It's like YouTube now compared to a couple years ago, it feels bloated and inefficient.

Doesn't get any comfier than Ubuntu with Gnome

Idk sometimes it's nice to blow the fuck out of shitty code with overkill modern hardware

Good. You kept the Amazon and Rhythm Box icons.

>Gnome3
That's the most un-comfy DE.

funny because win95 is more stable and lightweight than any Linux environment ever

windows xp
it might be a normalfag tier choice but it's the best os i ever used so far, it's perfect
ubuntu with unity is better, and also more lightweight

>ubuntu with unity is better, and also more lightweight
This.
Also the XP part.

can you run blender and emacs?
if so, i'll consider haikuos

Ubuntu with Mate is even more lightweight.

pro tip: go ahead and run winxp on a modern pc with a ssd. it's literally the fastest OS in the world, everything is instant.

SLACKWARE BITCH

SGI IRIX 6.x

Debian stable with your prefered DE
As comfy as a warm drink with a fire

I was excited when someone made a recreation of that interface for Linux, but the project died pretty quickly.

emacs i'm thinking maybe an older primitive version but blender doubt it

very underrated

>xfeces themed like haiku
You aren't fooling anyone. Actually run Haiku or GTFO, faggot.

Haiku has Emacs 26.2-1 and Blender 2.79b-13. You can search for other packages here: depot.haiku-os.org/

MaXX is still going but there's one dev and it's all closed source.

Gentoo

>win95
>stable
Windows 95 had a bug that made it crash after 2^32 milliseconds = 49.7 days. No one noticed for years because it usually crashed for some other reason long before that.

Agreed. Pure gnome sucks though.

xubuntu

OP + 1905

Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC

I'm home.

Deskmate

Hikarunix

For me it's Gentoo.

>Powermac with 7.5.5
if it's a PPC machine, you really do want 7.6 on it instead
bit worthless of an upgrade on 68k Macs, but really improves PPC stability

sounds nice user

BeOS

I like those function menus, reminds me a little of TI 92.
Also, TI 92.

based.

Windows 10

This.

peak 00s aesthetic

It's pure nostalgia. It's not the OS you want, it's your carefree childhood.

I went with Pop!_OS but Gnome Shell on laptop is really comfy

it really is so comfy.

Agreed. I remember being pissed at my CS teacher in high school when they installed Me after a year with 2000 pro because "It's newer so it must be better". They switched to XP as soon as it came out to save what was left of everyones sanity

Attached: TempleOS_4.05_session.png (640x480, 25K)

I love this OS.

looked really neat, even if it did run like molasses

good answer

>switched from 98se to ME
>steaming pile of blue screen
>friend introduced me to 2k
>doesn't even need CD key holy shit
>use it forever
>xp comes out
>every other friend "omg user xp is so good and looks so nice compared to 98, task manager actually works!"
>"yeah already been using that for years"
>fast forward a few years
>new game I've been waiting forever for comes out
>either wc3 or FFXI, can't remember
>doesn't run on 2k
>forced to install xp
>switched immediately to classic theme
>it's never the same anymore
I miss you breh

Windows93.

>That fucking loser that carries around a kernel on a USB and talks about "Daily driver OS"

GNU ofc

Attached: 1508088131671.png (3000x2933, 242K)

The OS is shit, but it's not just nostalgia, 90s GUI design made more sense. Win10 is all flat and low-contrast where it should not be, so it's visually indistinct. Win95 had good contrast and smart use of colors that gave it a sense of depth and place.

>Ubuntu
>Mate
>50 repos
>pre installed bloat I don't need
Ok bud...

Based and micropilled

I really like how elementary OS works desu
>MaXX
I tried really hard once to get that running on my machine, but I couldn't find all of it.
