I am not in a position to test this, but if I leave TeamViewer open on my home PC, can I connect to it from my office PC, without needing someone to click "accept" or anything like that?

I figured a certainamount would be allocated for paging/swap and it should run as normal until it gets to like 100MB left

I'm shopping around for USB 3.0 enclosures for a 2.5" SSD. Are there data transfer performance differences between the enclosures themselves?

For example, does a $7 enclosure you can snag off of eBay offer the same amount of performance as any of the more expensive, namebrand ones? I'm talking about the PCB inside the enclosures. I understand that USB will bottleneck the SSD's true speed, but do competing enclosures differ in that kind of performance? Or all they all virtually the same?

Each time you change the format/media of your data you'll incur losses due to latency and speed mis-matches.
Your case will claim 6Gbs and so will your drive, but you won't get that over the USB3.
If you want native speed you should be using eSATA. But your PC probably doesn't support that.

I'm just looking for an external drive to store and work on Final Cut Pro projects. I have a 1TB 5400rpm HDD and the speeds are pure ass. Had to remove my projects from my Macbook Pro because it was eating up all of my internal storage space. Nothing much more complicated than that.

I'm just asking if there's a real performance difference between the $7 no-name enclosure on eBay vs. a Kingston/Sabrent/etc enclosure.

there's not, really. drive speed is more important, as is connector type (lots of them still use micro-b 3.0 which sucks dick)

Get a cheap usb-c one. Worst case scenario, a super-fast ssd won't quite read at full speed (5gbps instead of 6gbps)

in theory a usb 3.1 connection will give you faster reads/writes, but with overhead and stuff it's not worth the extra cost, probably.
