it still really fucking bugs me that clicking the alien/icon for a subreddit took you to the reddit homepage rather than the subreddit frontpage.
i mean everything about reddit's design bothers me, but if you view it as a link aggregation site rather than the forum replacement it became then a lot of those decisions at least have a devil's advocate defence. that decision was indefensible - either the alien should not have been customisable, or it should have linked to the subreddit itself.
it's not even part of their terrible redesign if i remember correctly and it still bothers me it was ever part of the design

Yeah, it only happens when lenses are involved. So, like the lens flare effect, it shouldn't appear in something you are drawing unless the thing you are drawing is supposed to be view through a lens of some kind in that drawing's universe. Mostly though things like CA are unwanted in normal photo/film making and good expensive lenses will have as low CA as possible. There are other lens effects that artists also use, but some of them are okay since that is what the eye does naturally.

Old reddit was fine. nu reddit spaces everything out too much, tried to hard to look like twitter, and purposefully only shows you really small parts of threads and reply chains now so that unless you are an ADHD manchild clicking from thread to thread its a nightmare. If you google something and end up at reddit, its always annoying to try to find your answer in the thread now because you have to go to so many pages to see everything in the thread.
