>fuck good UI
Prof. Dr. Style is literally the only good web design See contemporary-home-computing.org
i can't believe how bad companies like google and twitter are at design.
flow? none.
explains itself to the user? not usually.
functional? no (see youtube bell and twitter mutes)
that's without discussing cancers like material design. they're the villains of ux, but spread their bad practices across the web.

Also Dan Luu's site, see this article for example: danluu.com
all academic sites should be like this.
This is what peak website design looks like. It may upset you, but this is it.
cont.
9/10
Plan9 is a comfy and aesthetic os with web browsers that only support comfy and aesthetic websites.
i came a little.
So responsive and pleasant.
>mcmaster.com
Looks nice *and* is useful. Bookmarking since I'll probably order something
You guys have no idea what you are inn for
>arngren.net
itt: what the web would look like if normalfags wouldn't be using it
RMS's website is a mess to look at, especially that top portion. use some fucking colors.
that orange website
>points
isthisthingon.org
comfy
orange website bad
lobste.rs is better, the comments suck on both tho
im still waiting for him to upload those 2009 Jow Forums archives.
but visuals are ok, and it serves very few data so loads really well on mobile data or droppy network
and from time to time I skim-read 100 headlines and find few articles daily that are interesting. same with comments - it's bloated with uninteresting noise, but there are always those few comments that are helpful.
>better
depending on criteria, this thread is about visuals and web 1.0. hn wins here
why?
You mean this archive from 2009? archive.org
Unless you mean an archive of 2009 posts
>how to build bombs
kek I remember those
Unironically B+R
Kind of weird to think that those files were all over the place and no one seemed to really pay it any mind.
Internet was young and retards weren't just there yet. Internet reached critical mass around mid 2000s and that's where social media took off and killed any sense/semblance of rationality.
it was a different time back then.
Jow Forums.org
weebs are fucking creepy weirdos
Only the best.
>easy to navigate
There's literally no organization
you seem to hate stylesheets more than design
>It's fucking real
Here's another favorite. They sell good stuff, too.
'good' UI is typically the same site over and over and over though
UX >> UI
Too busy and distracting, making it hard to find the content
Now here's a classic site. Colorful, but easy on the eyes. Simple to navigate.
One of the first websites I ever visited
modarchive.org
Honestly can't fault it.
>easy to navigate
There's literally no organization
If you find it hard to find content in , you might have brain damage.
meh, it's just boring, doesn't do things particularly well or poorly
slackware.com
If you weren't retarded you would see the big box.
and that's only for like 25% of the content
