most people use them because they are cheap and configurable, you can easily change out the parts if you need to unlike most modern laptops. also having an older CPU without Intel Management Engine allows you to install a custom bootloader so your system can be (almost?) 100% free software

Very cool I use a regular windows 10 pc so pretty much most of my information is getting datamined but I'm trying to lessen that with shut up 10. Only problems I have is just that EoSD can't work in fullscreen and it's annoying but otherwise yeah pretty cool

hm, I think there are programs to make games "fake fullscreen" by making them borderless windows, maybe you could try one of those
