Don't think this is the case, there's far more hatred for US and the West because of post-war rivalry and cold war.
There have been some scandals in the past with UK painted as hostile Western puppet though, so it's kind of carrying over of hate to US I guess.

I don't really think the hate is "justified". The Soviet propaganda made US "the enemy" and blamed them for everything, while shitting on them when they can. (Fun example—when Colorado beetle was brought to USSR, they said America was dropping the bugs from airplanes). In result people hate the US while having a rather uninformed picture of it.
Then when USSR fell, many people went in denial and blamed it all on Gorbachev and USA. A lot of these people still believe the soviet system was absolutely perfect, USSR had best science, culture, sports, medicine and whatever, and USA is all dumb, degenerate and greedy people with fake wealth and huge inequality who only earn their wealth by deceit.
So you be the judge if it's "justified" or not. The modern quarrels add the heat, and of course the pressure on Russia is real, but outright hating a caricature of the West is different.
