The bump cult is both who made that thread and what kept it alive through the spam wave, and have kept this one alive, too . What you call "cirnofags" are usually those that post other Jow Forums characters as well and are all pretty much Jow Forums oldfags.

People have withdrawn into six-month old generals because there isn't much interest to do anything in Jow Forums outside of those. Which who are we kidding at this point, is what they are.

Other characters have tried to be culted like Duke', Polar Bear, and Leaf Girl in efforts to make more OC but there just isn't enough interest to keep those threads alive.
