in d&d there's a couple different skills relating to noticing things. there's perception to notice stuff you're not explicitly looking for, investigation to see something you're explicitly trying to find, and insight to notice when something is generally amiss most often used to tell when someone is lying
there are situations where someone is being mind controlled, a creature is disguised as something else, etc and it's an insight check to determine that's whats happening. the meme is that in certain campaigns this sort of stuff happens a lot where eldritch gods and evil spirits or whatever are trying to influence the world undetected so most people don't even notice them, but characters with high insight basically get to live in a perpetual nightmare as they realize there's all these monsters hiding in plain sight and every 5th person they run into is actually a spawn of cthulhu

halfheartedly. i went full on boomer and walked into a couple computer repair shops with my resume in hand but nothing has come of it yet. i've taken a break from looking too hard and started focusing on learning piano for a bit because i'm going to start applying to music shops soon and wanted to be able to show competence on some instrument before i did. the hope is to start applying sometime next week, though i've been putting off updating my resume to show my musical experience for 2 or 3 weeks now because it sounds like a drag to do

this fucking retarded shit actually worked when i was a teen. got a job being a busboy at a hotel restaurant that way. went to the local resort and just walked into random hotels. most inhuman job i've ever held, i quit after a week.

yup. came this close to quitting. i lost my patience with a dumb cunt we were working with and yelled at her. then i went to my boss and i told him the story and that i never want to to work directly with clients again and fortunately he took my side. if he hadn't i'd have quit.
i think i'd have done okay, from what i gather my skillset is fairly rare in bulgaria.

i don't think i do really, but i'm sure musical competency is a very good bonus to have. my thought process is that if i say i have all these years of musical experience and can't really prove that i have any level of competency it might look bad. i chose to do piano because it's the most widely applicable. if i were to go rent a clarinet and brush up on that then it doesn't really help me if i end up at guitar center or something. if i brush up on bass guitar it doesn't really help if i end up in an orchestral music shop
if i were planning on just applying to stores that sell albums and accessories or something i wouldn't bother, but every employee i've interacted with at a place that sells instruments can play at least one instrument there so i think it's best that i can too before applying. plus i've always wanted to be able to play piano and never been able to get up the motivation so this is a good excuse

my parents are hoarders and my dad likes collecting instruments even though nobody can play them. we have two electronic keyboards, a bass guitar, an (electric) standing bass, two really shitty trombones, a broken accordion, a mandolin, two didgeridoos, a mandolin, saxophone and at least one guitar lying around somewhere
at our peak there was also a flute, cornet, clarinet, one more trombone, one more didgeridoo, and up to two more guitars
for reference out of all this i can barely play the bass guitar, guitar, saxophone, clarinet, and now barely the keyboards. my dad can play the sax/guitar and my sister could play the cornet/flute before we got rid of them. everything else nobody has the foggiest clue how to actually use but they're sitting around in a dusty corner

it sort of is. it can get really bad if you go somewhere nice without any scholarships, but even with the scholarships they give out to anyone who isn't borderline retarded i got all of my tuition paid for, it's mostly just dorm debt i have and even that is well under 10k i'm pretty sure. also there isn't a time limit to pay it back as long as you can pay off the interest so in the worst case i have like $15/mo hanging over my head until i die

i started with some basic exercises to start building muscle memory. once i could play those semi-reliably i just started looking for progressively harder songs online. funny enough most of the stuff that i'd think to look for that has easy to get sheet music is from video games, but there's a pretty wide skill range and most of them are short enough that i don't burn out before i get them down so it's working out
