Disclaimer: Before you call this "racebait", I'm not talking about all whites in general, but rather, the majority of a subcategory (albeit a large one) of western whites.
I live in a borderline ghetto and my main job is in an even more ghetto area, but my second job (over half an hour away) is in an upper middle class suburb. This isn't the first time I've worked in such an area, and I've been to various upper class white neighborhoods as I've had friends who live in them. While there are certainly exceptions, most middle to upper class whites have this strange, artificial...almost uncanny valley feeling to them. Their injecting of politics in conversations that have nothing to do with them, their virtue signaling, their paradoxical guilt complex with their smug sense of superiority, their uptight political correctness, their contradictory consumerism mixed with a strong identity of "anti-capitalism" etc.
Obviously those are all "onions boy" traits and while the vast majority of middle to upper class whites most certainly are onions boys (nearly all of the ones under 35 are) it goes even beyond that. Their overuse of sarcasm, their overuse of pop culture references, their strange obsession with dogs (I'm talking the ones who treat their dogs like children and call them "doggos" and "fur babies"), their awkward attempts at humor, their childish mannerisms, their fake smiles, their passive-aggressiveness.... literally everything about them is just not quite right. There's no word in the English language (probably not in any other language for that matter) to fully describe it. "Autistic" "artificial" "synthetic" "uncanny vally" are all in the ball park...but none quite hit the nail of the head. They're just.....off. Their default culture is so weird that the misfits in their neighborhoods seem more normal than the normies.

Leftism as a psychological associates itself with whatever issues it thinks it will be on the winning side and with whatever position it will be so long as it is consistent with the particular metaphysical systems they inherently believe in. Leftist tend to believe in Marx's metaphysical project, or the modern progressive atheist metaphysical project. Globalism is consistent with socialism since socialists believe in an international socialism. In one case socialism is """anti-capitalist""" whatever that might mean so it would be prudent to be against globalism in the sense that globalism involves the unification of local economies. On the other sense. If the economy is globalized and any governing power is centralized to within one organization, it may also be consistent to exploit it for your purposes. Unions are fine as long as they further socialism, but it is terrible when it pacifies the working class who now has job security, who's families are fed, and who has disposable incomes. Environmentalism is great as long as it can be used to fight """capitalism""" but terrible the moment they realize that a socialist system requires a fantasy, "post-scarcity," to work, they certainly cannot risk living in a way that preserves as much of any wild ecosystems as possible. Since AI and other anticipated technologies which may not ever exist is necessary for "post-scarcity," they must get them at all costs even if it is their own lives. Anti-imperialism is great so long as you fight countries you deem capitalist yet you have the right to conquer countries that refuse to participate in your utopian vision.
Leftism is utopian above all else and in that nature, it must be opportunist. You have to be on perceived winning side as long as you aren't siding with your blatant opposites in order to exploit the position of power you need to push your utopian project.

The leftist upper middle class is kind of weird, but it's not really that bad. They very much trust logic (in a crazy rationalist fashion, obviously) and will tend to listen if you happen to behave with charisma and temperance, especially the wahmen, who eagerly submit to a confident well-spoken guy who is not a faggoting leftist.
They just lack a culture, so they emulate what they see, and what they see being modernity, it makes them weird at first glance.
