The spam sucks, but it’s just Korbo trying to get underneath our skin. Really the best thing you can do is just ignore Korbo alltogether and report when he spergs out. Eventually he’ll get bored as all epic maymay trolls do.

As for the spam and self-raids, it’s definitely the cause of most of Jow Forums‘s issues. Posters grow tired of the same routine: shitpost for awhile, get flooded with bitter spam, report spam, wait 2+ hours for mods to come, then shitpost again. This routine is only fun for a fraction of the time spent on here, and is what leads to Jow Forums losing a lot of its good, thoughtful, and observant posters. If only we had mods that cared... alas, a dream that cannot be.

I felt like sneaking in and old Morning Leader meme, but I understand what you mean. Banter, good OC, and quality threads are either ignored by people who’d rather partake in the discord drama circlejerk or gaypost for the attention. Combine this with all the spam and it’s very clear why Jow Forums is losing its enjoyability.
Enough pessisism though, that only gets us further down and unwilling to make good threads like these. Quality gems and memes can still be found and enjoyed by people on here, and even though it’s going slowly, I’ve felt a sense of community returning to Jow Forums.
It’s a little hard to explain what I mean, but the best example that I can come up with is the whole Guild fad. Some people made fun of it for the luls but for the most part everyone that wanted to partake had a good time, and even though it only lasted for two days I’ll always remember it.

I definitely agree good threads, content, and people can still be found. The difficulty I find for myself is spotting them in all the garbage. Sometimes you make threads like this and they get drowned out. Other times you partake in a shitty thread to find something interesting. It's a hard balance.

Maybe it’s just me, but your posting style reminds me of Jinzo’s. Just a passing thought really, not sure why I’m gonna include it in my post but eh, it’s whatever.
To sum it all up, sonya-chan started a little LARP a month and a half ago to spite a frogposter, and it took off in less than an hour. Everyone from a leaf to a Dukeposter were making or joining guilds and generally being autistic. It was all in good fun though, and everyone either got a good laugh or just shrugged it off and went about their daily lives.
That’s the beauty of random boards to be honest with you. There might always be mountains of trash but there’s always something good that pops up amongst it.

I never actually interacted with Jinzo much. I remember he was pretty big for a while but we never talked. Or at least I never knew if we talked assuming he took his name off at all.
That does sound fun though. Though it was site wide, I think one of the most fun times was last year's April Fool's joke. The loyalty to each team was a blast to me.

Jinzo's put back on his name, but the last time I saw a thread of his was the day after Jow Forums's birthday. He's a pretty decent guy all things considered, and has even made/partaken in /comfy/ threads. I don't intend to jerk off namefigs though, and I apologize if it comes across that way.
Last year's April Fools joke was so great that some people on Jow Forums posted during this year's April Fools joke as if it was still last year's. There was so much unity and rivalry between the 4 different teams, I don't think we will ever see anything like it again on Jow Forums.

Son of a bitch, the thing keeps saying the post I typed looks like spam and I have no clue why. To paraphrase though, talking about namefags is fine. there is definitely a line between discussing something and fallating it. Otherwise, I always tend to enjoy when Jow Forums comes together for something that provides teamwork or camaraderie in any way. It's amazing how much people band together for even the silliest of things.
