I'm making a fantasy world (no magic stuff) what should i put in there?

Counts as "magical", i want all the species there having been naturally and logically evolved.

Split the dominant species of the planet into two divergent strains, like one that evolved underwater and one on ground, or one on a snowy mountain and the other in a desert.

Make them so different that they have to try really hard even to communicate.

The dominant species is plain old human. I'll probably make up several subspecies for them and other related hominin species though.

This is the part that our first protagonist peoples inhabit. Climate is comparable to Europe or North America, as is the area size. Excluding there being a cold desert and some steppe in the south-west inland.
Maybe they got mammoths or something.

Well there's life in Haiti and the place is a worse shithole than Mordor.

Or if you meant that it's too harsh and cold there it's just looks like that on a ball. There is more traditional map projection with equator and other most important latitudes marked. Large chunk of the southern continent's inland is frozen tundra but the northernmost parts reach the levels comparable to Middle East or Japan.

I like post-apocalyptic stuff where nature's overgrown everything, do something like that but with fantasy, and really play up the nature aspect. Include spirits too, in the same vein as Princess Mononoke
