well dota auto chess is very popular but also moderately high barrier to entry. league auto chess is significantly lower so people are excited about it. league also has a habit of "beta testing" things when they're already mostly polished and just need some balance updates before hitting live

sorta. playing it in the first place means requires being at least a little familiar with dota and/or the steam workshop since it's a player made custom game mode. from there the ui is really really unintuitive and sloppy since it's kind of a patchwork creation of someone trying to jam a completely different genre into a moba game mode creator. the servers are also pretty patchy and might not be valve official.
by contrast since the league version is made by riot them self it's just another tab on the game mode screen and they got to change the UI and mechanics as much as they like to make what's going on clear. that's not to say it's perfect, it's still really overwhelming and difficult to understand initially unless you're already familiar with league characters/items and some stuff like the camera is kind of shoddy, but overall it's very obvious that the league version is an official game mode made by "real" developers while the dota one isn't
there's also more opinionated stuff like the difference in art styles which considering more people play league than dota seems like a plus for the league auto chess

it's certainly a possibility. i think it has a lot of similar qualities that make for mass appeal like engagement from start to finish, games having sort of a narrative arc you can talk to your firends about, and enough randomness that even bad players can have really good games but not so much that games feel hopeless most of the time.
i also think there's room for plenty of monetization in skins for units and whatnot that hasn't been capitalized on yet so especially once that gets going i can see a lot of companies jumping on pumping them out.
the vital thing i think is missing currently though is that it's not a good group activity. a lot of BRs success comes from the fact people can squad up with their friends or whatever, but so far auto chess is 1v1v1v1v1v1v1v1 so you can't really play with your friends outside of them being in the pool of opponents especially since it's unlikely someone has 7 friends sitting around to play with at a given moment.
it might get big despite this, but i think as far as getting hugely popular like the big fads do someone will probably have to find out how to make a team game mode happen

i mean ideally for riot the auto chess would get people to play the moba with their friends, but they're not even similar games from a gameplay standpoint.
nope, i feel like i learned nothing. i have no clue why there were problems like the video track being at 1.25 speed or not having audio on some conversions, they just kind of stopped happening at some point. i also had to turn up the bitrates to practically double what they were on the original file to get it to come out decent and now it's double the filesize
fortunately i ensured that my recordings are in mp4 from the get go a long time ago

That sounds really strange. I've experienced issues with audio synching and such but not the bitrate thing.
I know that both the container format and the codec used determine how well the end result will turn out and a lot of them don't play well together but mp4 should be ok for most things.
If not there's always mkv now that most things support it.
