The mixed experience is different from place to place in America. Where I live seeing a mixed kid with their family is common and no one bats an eye. If I’m out and about with my family and someone stairs out us I know that they’re from the area.

I don't really mind kids looking at me. It's adults who stare at me like I'm a zoo animal trying to figure out where I'm from that makes me feel a bit weird
It's gotten to the point where I actively avoid everyone's gaze
I think a small bit of makeup can look alright. It's when their faces are a different colour to the rest of their body that it becomes ridiculous
