Why do you think they are boring? yes, I am interested in fighter planes, they're are marvel's of engineering, and in my opinion show the human races incredible ability. The book talks about the basic components of high performance aircraft in general, and goes through the whole history of fighter planes.

I mean airshows are very fun to watch, but no it's not just looks. I don't have a favourite fighter plane, but purely as an aircraft, with no greater context like it's intended role and and ease of manufacturing, I particularly admire the f-16, mig-25, mig-31, f-35, and some old fighter planes like the fw 190. Sadly I don't have a very good understanding of the underlying aerodynamics, electronics, chemistry, etc. that make the planes work, but I'm working on improving this.
