Are Greeks white?

Why is it that clsssical Greek statues have Aryan features and their mosaics show fair men and women with blonde and red hair and blue eyes that almost look Northern European, but Greeks today look like hairy, swarthy Turks?

Every greek statue I've seen is literally white. That's the marble color they used.

Yes and yes.

You have it backwards somewhat. The blonde and the black man mixed to create the Greek man.

Greece and Turkey used to be the same country. Drawing a line on a map doesn't separate two ethnicities that have already been mixed.

Variants of the term "Moor" have been used by many Europeans since ancient times as a general description for indigenous Africans. Contrary to popular belief, the term is not synonymous with "Islamic" or any specific Arab or African religion, civilization, or ethnicity.

The origin of the English term, "Moor," is the Greek word, "μαυρο" or "mavro" which literally means "black, blackened or charred" and has long been used to describe black or very dark things such as, "Mavri Thalassa" which refers to the Black Sea or "mavri spilia" which means "black cave." Ancient Greeks used the term to describe the complexion of Africans and (even today, some Greeks use "mavro" to refer to Africans, although in a pejorative manner).

see the word's evolution from the Greek "mavro" to the Latin word, "mavrvs" (actually, "mavro" in the ablative, singular, masculine Latin form). The English transliteration is "Maurus" and the plural form is "Mauri," specifically used by ancient Romans in reference to Black Africans. Writers in both Greek and Latin specifically used the term as a racial identity. In the Epitome de Caesaribus (390s AD), we learn that Aemilianus was "a Moor by race." Procopius of Caesarea (500-565 AD), a Byzantine scholar who wrote in Greek, said in his History of the Wars, "beyond that there are men not black-skinned like the Moors..."

Arabs and Caucasians alsways try to fit themselves into ancient Kemet and Moorish history and try to make someone else’s history a part of their own.

As late as the 5th Century A. D. Procopius, a Roman historian, called the people of Morocco “black.”

Yes it does. Some elite Turks might be mixed with Greeks, but Greeks are not mixed with Turks.

Moors were pure indigenous Meds from North Africa near the Iberian peninsula.

Indigenous North Africans were black. North African only begins to whiten/lighten post Greco-Roman period. However, at the time of Moorish Spain, both the Berber and Arab populations were still primarily black.

We know this because all the primary source text and artistic renderings by Iberian Peninsula/Western Europeans depicted the Moors as black and wrote the words such as their skin is the color of “melted pitch” that specify how black they were. The primary source documents are Alfonso (X) of Aragon’s “Cantigas de Santa Maria,” the Franc ruler Charlemagne’s “Song of Roland,” and the Pernes, France, mural of Ysore being killed by a javelin to the neck by the French William of Orange (not to be confused with the English one). All of these works were completed while the Moors still ruled in the Iberian Peninsula including what would be called Spain, Portugal (well…. not after Ysore died probably since he ruled there and controlled Sicily), and Sicily. Written and produced between the 10th and 13th Centuries of the common era.

These are primary source depictions by Europeans who were fighting the Moors.

No they were not. Nobody cares about your Afrocentric sources.

Yes.

>European primary sources are Afrocentric
???

The Chanson of Roland states that the Moorish army was 50,000 strong and led by Marganice, Emperor of Ethiopia and Carthage. Their most valiant figure is Abisme (that is, Abyssinian), who (verse 126) is described as “black as melted pitch.” In this epic, the Moors are called Sarrazins, in English, Saracens.

Arab writers further buttress the black identity of the Moors. The powerful Moorish Emperor Yusuf ben-Tachfin is described by an Arab chronicler as “a brown man with wooly hair.”
