I'll do my best! I want to focus on studying construction for now. For pic related the construction gave me so much damn trouble and I never quite got it right. By the time I gave up and moved on to coloring/shading I was burned out.

i have another tip for you jinzo you probably already know this but apparently you can see your mistakes in your drawing if you just flip the image horizontally. i did this on my earlier works and it ruined my day and made me feel like shit. ive adjusted accordingly then. flipping the image from time to time while drawing until it looks kinda good.

Ah, that trick from the /ic/ sticky. I've done that a few times but not recently, but if it works as well as you say I'll try it out.

Maybe it’s just my inability to really look into things but that looks okay to me apart from the shading. What was wrong with the construction?

Well, I'm lucky I even got it this good. I just could not get the shape and perspective of certain things right. Notice that Rei's head is smaller than Askua's despite her being closer, for one, and that Rei's head is undersized compared to her body. Asuka's legs aren't right either, one is smaller, shorter, and thinner than the other, and they don't meet her body at quite the right level. Also, the background is slanted at an angle, as if looking from above, but then other elements of the drawing are shown as if being seen from ground level, giving instead the impression that one side of the pool is actually taller than the other side, which makes no sense considering the water level.

There's a ton of other things I think could have been done better too, but I just got so burned out with trying to figure out why the construction wasn't doing what I wanted it to that I got exhausted and had to force my way through the rest of it.

If there were janitors on Jow Forums now, the only way a thread could get off the board is by pruning; that's how much shitposting there is.

Jow Forums's potential to have been a decent board was rigged, either intentionally or unintentionally, to fail from the start.

The staff at least went through the motions of asking multiple boards before creating Jow Forums.
Jow Forums would have fulfilled two purposes: to serve as /b/+Jow Forums-porn, and take threads from other boards that didn't fit there or anywhere else but were interesting enough not to delete. They could have instead used /trash/ for that but they would have upset and partially uprooted the proverbial rat's nest there. In my opinion, Jow Forums was made for valid reasons but the urgency of those reasons were honestly insignificant to have a board partly dedicated to it; most anons just wanted to have obnoxious shitposting cut down iirc.
The main issue was that moderation wasn't willing or able to enforce that, so Jow Forums quickly degenerated into a destructive free for all between the groups that tried to stake a claim for the board. Heck a mod even helped stoke it by giving a certain group special treatment at the expense of everyone else, but I guess it was somehow alright because almost everyone on Jow Forums except the designated punching bags got along at the time.
It's all just so tiresome...
