We've had them for about two weeks now, I think. They're still skittish but at least they go in and out of the coop on their own and swim out in their pool (made from the plastic sandbox bottom).
We'll be moving to the farm very soon and there's enough cats around that share our property, which will make things interesting when we bring in our cats, so unfortunately, they'll have to find their own food.

i don't, it's a lot of choices to make. you basically chose 18 abilities from any 3 classes out of the 11. of course you can narrow it down by figuring that stuff like a warrior/bard/archer probably isn't gonna be great, but it's still a lot of options.
the consolation is that you can change your classes whenever you want but you also level them all separately from each other and your character level so apparently you want to try and take your first picks to the level cap before mixing it up
it's an exciting system no doubt but man is it a bit intimidating

it really is. being relatively niche means it's hard to find resources that tell me what's good and bad. fortunately from what sparse information i can find it looks like a handful of the classes are so good that any combination with them is almost always valid, so i shouldn't have too much trouble settling on something to level with at least
the funniest thing to me is they went through the effort to name all the combinations. a lot of them are pretty standard with your battlemages, assassins, paladins, but after a certain point you can tell they were really running out of ideas so you get stuff like farslayer, swiftstone, and blighter

i actually wouldn't miss the wasted time investment or mind dealing with the p2w for a few days, i just know i'll end up playing way too much and burning out anyway so i might as well wait until the good version of the game is out to do it
something like that. it's a combination of always assuming best case scenarios and speaking as if he's absolutely positive when making guesses that makes things come across inaccurately a lot of the time. like in this case i asked him if everything was set in stone and he was positive the positions and project were going to exists in a few months time before i start slaving away to prepare and he said something along the lines of "yes everything is already done as of today but they need to get the office space and do more paperwork before we can start and that takes a while months."
in reality "everything" could mean all the decision making and his higher ups still need to convince investors that the correct decisions will be made otherwise they'll pull their funds. alternatively getting office space and doing paperwork could be steps that fail but he's under the impression they're a small barrier that might as well be formalities.
that's not to say he's being willfully misleading or that he's necessarily wrong, it just wouldn't be the first time he said "we can move to new zealand i have a job lined up there" then never hear about it again because of something "small" he didn't account for. this time was a lot more convincing that previous cases though, so here's hoping

i'm not a big fan of it either. most people find him very likable and awe-inspiring especially since the attitude really gives him a relentless work ethic and he's both quite smart and charismatic, so i definitely respect the results. unfortunately once you realize maybe 30% of the time he's taking a random shot in the dark and assuming any unknown is a success in part so nobody thinks to double check it becomes really hard to take him seriously.
i fully expect that if this does pan out that i'll spend a lot of time explaining to him why wide scope things he wants done are bad ideas on a technical level or well outside the scope of a 4-5 man team of kids straight out of college then clunkily patching something together when he says to give it our best shot anyway. fortunately i don't think the success of the project has that much bearing on my well being day to day and i'll just be a little code monkey so it's not my fault if his calls are causing problems but i still benefit from him being right.
