Should I quit being a pussy and get out of the US medical system?

>Be depressed teen male
>fuck up a lot
>be diagnosed bipolar in 20s (not the worst version)
>after trying 2 medications over 1 year, neither work, be prescribed Lithium carbonate
>It 'works'
>Be stabilized for 10 years
>suddenly doctor tells you "Your bloodwork looks good, but you should start living like you're diabetic and pre-dialysis with kidney disease so you can prepare for lithium to damage your kidneys
>Be very surprised, do some research
>Learn that if you're lucky (nothing to do with 'living healthy, because I do) you'll have 20-25 years on lithium before needing a machinated kidney-cleanse weekly.
>Seriously consider weaning yourself off your meds
>Would save a lot of money per year between insurance, bi-annual doctor appointments and bi-annual bloodwork which my insurance doesn't cover
>Don't have to work with people, all skills are 'leave me alone until it's done' related
>Family not supportive of decision to go off meds
>No kids yet
>Dating casually

Pretty much, I have a choice: get the fuck out now while my body is still healthy and undamaged-- and deal with possible moodswings and depression-- or continue a non-permanent (toxic) solution to a problem that will leave me hooking my fucking bloodstream up to a machine to clean the blood because my kidneys can't do it.
This is one of those 'fork in the multiverse' decisions
What would you do, Jow Forums?

You could stop taking the lithium and see how bad it really is.
If it's something you can live with, do so.
Otherwise stay on the lithium and wreck your kidneys. After that either medical technology will have made kidney transplants more accessible or you can take the lead pill.
Also this thread would be better off on Jow Forums or something. It's not really politics.

there are other drugs. seems crazy to stay on it

Holy shit they made a movie on soldier from tf2

Change your fucking diet and you will not need meds. Heal your gut and your mood WILL improve. stop eating carbs and sugars. Go keto or carnivore and you will feel better I promise.

I take nine pills a day and my liver is shot.
U honestly take lithium and don’t get neetbux?
Dude get off that shit or get on neetbux. No reason to poison yourself for free out of pocket. Take the neetpill

Fuck your meme diets

Doctors are pure evil death merchants in my experience, but do what you like

What most people don't realize is that depression exists for a reason. You're depressed because you see the world for the absolute shitshow that it is. This is the natural response to being surrounded by what we are all surrounded by. Medication is literally there to stop you from acting outside of the norm and maintain the integrity of the system.

Man they put me on all types of shit before. One time I was prescribed 900mg of seroquell a day. 3x300mg pills when 1x25mg is enough to put the average autistic down for 12 hours. Man, yeah. Yes, fuck the medical system. It is a business and money matters moar to them than your well being. Look at recent history.

>Bayer dumps HIV infected hemoglobin overseas for profit

>malpractice, defective devices, wrongful injury profits the judges, manufacturers, lawyers, specialist, experts, etc.

>free life saving overdose treatments for junkies but bankrupting families of children with allergies

>other nations people getting every bit of help you can get for pennies on the dollar

Get off the meds, eat right, exercise, and focus on you, who you are, your relationship to nature. Analyze your parents and you may see that you're normal but incapable of accepting genetic factors.

If you want to live an unhappy life then be my guest and continue eating a "balanced diet." I speak from personal experience and would not suggest them if I had malevolent intent. Going carni and sorting out other problems in my life after that helped me immensely, and I feel great every day I wake up. Can you say the same?

Why the fuck are you on Jow Forums asking about this shit? If I was you I'd just fucking kms. Your Gene's are already tainted so there's no point in you reproducing. Just do it.

Heal thyself user.

Medical system is fucked. Why didn't they warn you before you started the medication? Because fuck you, that's why. There is no consent. We're all lab rats.

Wean yourself off, develop strategies -- meditation, hydration and exercize including lifting freeweights (bench dead squat overhead-press) -- and see how well you do. Solve problems as they come, use a counsellor for that if you want. If it doesn't work out you can still go back on the meds. But I think it'll work. You can do it user.

good responses all

Lithium is a salt, I mean shit that’s what they put in our batteries. Of course it’s toxic. I’d look into ketamine for depression.

Get off the medication. Why people take that shit for depression instead of finding the underlying cause is beyond me. Most people have it because they have a sunless, boring, introverted lifestyle.

I don't take any meds for it & I've got melancholic MDD because my body has low serotonin receptors + they absorb to soon. I don't get happy or feel good or enjoy anything.

I would not be a sucker for the jews, I would lay off that shit.

There has to be a way to overcome your depression

>Be me

As you can see only 15% of Lithium takers suffer from some decrease in kidney function, providing that they are not OD'd.
Good Luck OP.
