My only source is a white south african dude who moved here and we became friends. He's remarkably down to earth and straightforward so I don't think he is lying. How he describes it is basically "half-truth" in every media.
Mainstream media understates the actual brutality of the direct attacks: there are plenty of blacks who are genuinely riled up and are headhunting, literally, rural white land owners (obviously a white getting savaged in a major city is not going to happen unless its dark and isolated), he says the blacks are "kinda pack-mindset, you know?" like they wont start shit in the open, normal areas but there are small bands of them going out into the remote areas and finding idle white families and cutting them up.
The other "half-truth" is the alternative media overstates the 'genocide' and sometimes does more harm. Too many le redpilled dorks saying there's a government sanctioned ethnic cleansing going on against whites. The reality is, his words, "most african governments and police forces are incompetent almost like retards" and will simply not punish/seek justice on things not directly infront of their faces, like a remote killing, hence why whites in the cities are for the most part untouched. He didn't actually mind the city life at all, because if you're kinda wealthy and white, you're actually very safe and untouchable: the authorities/government want you spending/creating money in their country. There's also a lot of guns-for-hire and mercs, both black and white, that wealthier whites on properties take advantage of to remove any 'kill whitey' groups.
