Freaky! looks like the same place.
Yeah the monuments in Vicksburg MS are dedicated to most of the states that fought there, on both sides. There was a massive battle there. I went when I was a kid and there are tons of those graves there. Its on the top of a high point in the city overlooking the river. Lot of really beautiful statues.

Sometimes when I browse /out/ I see western Americans shit talking the east because "the Appalachians aren't real mountains" when compared to the Rockies, but it still looks extremely attractive
That's a pretty big river
Helps understand how complicated crossing rivers used to be, when we grow up with canalized rivers and dozens of bridge we forget
Jaxson Hill
>That's a pretty big river
for you
Blake Flores
Well memed but true
The Hérault river flood very often but it's a stream compared to the Loire and the Loire is nothing compared to the Mississippi or Colorado
Bentley Wood
>still looks extremely attractive
It has a softer beauty. its not as ostentatious as other american mountain ranges. Because of that it attracts less people, and in that I feel its been widely overlooked and left alone unlike Colorado and California's ranges going up to BC.
makes for fertile soil in the delta.

Pasta and egg tonight
Logan Young
Jason Gomez
thats a good pic. any sauce or gravy on them noodles?
Anthony Cruz
Supermarket decent tomato sauce and lots of cheese
Some drops of tabasco to spice it up a bit
I'm gonna cook the egg on a pan and pour the yellow on my pasta plate
With the large quantity of cheese and the egg it becomes an ungodly looking mixture but it's my childhood's comfort food
Also because my options are pretty limited with only one portable hotplate in my room
Anthony Phillips
>gravy on noodles
why
Juan Stewart
Isn't gravy also a generic word for sauce beyond the original specific meaning ?
Gavin Russell
when someone says gravy i just think of meat gravy or sausage gravy. they're not really something i'd put over pasta
Xavier Wilson
You'd be surprised of the amount of things that go ok with pasta
It's pretty close to everything
Aiden Morales
i'd rather just have carbonara or a tomato sauce tbf
Michael Taylor
Isaiah Reyes
I realize I've been in dixie for a fair while now and I have never thanked the South for Tabasco sauce
Thanks I eat a shit ton
Logan Gutierrez
I hear ya
My favorites are probably plain tomato sauce, green pesto, or Roquefort sauce
Isaac Jenkins
it sounds pretty good actually.
Jacob Moore
tried pesto for the first time not too long ago, was very good
it's hard to find here though
what is Roquefort sauce
Adam Bell
Roquefort sauce is very easy, you just need Roquefort cheese, cream (the thick kind), a bit of whole milk, some salt and pepper
If you dose it right it's not too liquid, and goes great with pasta or read meat.
Forget it if you don't like Roquefort cheese in the first place because that's exactly what it will taste like
Yeah it is it just looks like shit and makes squishy sounds like people fucking when I stir it, but that doesn't matter
Zachary Hall
>cheese, cream (the thick kind), a bit of whole milk, some salt and pepper
I have this... just not that cheese
>makes squishy sounds
sound of quality
Colton Cook
It can be done with other sheep milk blue cheeses, really
I imagine Roquefort is pretty expensive over the Atlantic and other less known blue French would be hard to find but there may be a proper American alternative
John Turner
just sounds like alfredo sauce to me. i doubt i could find that cheese without going to a hipster store anyway
Luke Anderson
Looks close enough and pretty gud but probably won't taste the same at all since parmesan and roquefort are very different
>i doubt i could find that cheese without going to a hipster store anyway
Yeah it would have to bypass your retarded laws regarding unpasteurized milk cheese in some states too
Owen Thompson
Relevant picture btw
Dylan Cox
>and pretty gud
i buy canned alfredo sauce and just dump it over pasta
it's like a full pint of cream and i can't resist it

>The word "Dixie" refers to currency issued first by the Citizens State Bank in the French Quarter of New Orleans and then by other banks in Louisiana.[19] These banks issued ten-dollar notes[20] labeled Dix on the reverse side, French for "ten". The notes were known as "Dixies" by southerners, and the area around New Orleans and the French-speaking parts of Louisiana came to be known as "Dixieland".[5] Eventually, usage of the term broadened to refer to the Southern states in general.
this is just a theory and probably isn't true though. Most likely the name came from the Mason-Dixon line.
