you have been already busted with this once, all of these graphs use values that come from swedish territories aswell

so its like i publish numbers of hungary and slovakia togather while saying its only hungary
pretty cheap cheating, like licking lipbalm

The personal union with Sweden was dissolved in 1905.

Ireland was literally 3rd world in 1938 and was economically fucked after a trade war with Britain, yet there are still countries there poorer than us. Just how bad were they? I thought we would've been one of the poorest in Europe at that point

>poorbutnotaspoorasspaintugal

Yeah idk why it's so hard to believe for people that Norway could have a standard similar to that of the other nordic countries, even without the oil.

> 1938
You know, we had a bit of a problem that year.

GDP per capita PPP doesnt mean shit.
the population can be dirt poor, and 10 men can own half the country and the PPP measurements will be exactly the same

yugoslavia btfo

Get the same shit here, Switzerland was one of the most prosperous countries in Europe since at least the 1830's thanks to a very early industrialization, yet our poorfag neighbors believe our wealth magically appeared together with some banks. Only EFTA bro's can understand our feels.

The German (ex-)nobles must have had a shitload of money

The average norwegian were poor as hell in the late 1800s and early 1900s though. E.G Most of the international worker funds went to swedes and norwegians. The actual amazing thing about the Norwegian oil wealth that we didn't experience the resource curse that African and middle-eastern countries have experienced. We avoided it because we used it smarter.

>Poortugal poorer than an former Ottoman colony
How did that happen?

Baltic countries are wrongly lumped together, at least Estonia was above or very close to Finnish GPD per capita in 1938.

1890 map

Would you look at that, we were rich even back then

You realize the map says 1938 right?

Russia has always been a shithole... Turns out it is not monarchy or Communism that keeps us down, it's something else. Maybe Hitler was right and we are just subhumans?

based belgium

Because people like to believe our wealth was built on oil, while ignoring our history as a big trading nation with one of the biggest trade fleets in the world.
We weren't rich, but we were certainly not at the same level as some other European countries. Our economical reforms which changed Norway came in the 1920s and has been a big reason for our current success, we would probably be better off without the oil in the first place.
Like you've mentioned, we haven't really seen that much of the resource curse, only those involved with the oil boom actually gained anything from this.

Wow spain and Portugal have always been the poorest in western Europe.

all baltic states were at Finland level before Rashka fucked everything up

Slav(e)s have always been subhumans.
