World One Tower

Completion - delayed to 2022
9 highrises confirmed for now
what's with all that cargo cultism and desiring those retarded giant glass dildoes?
Over here they're turning this old dockyard into a new district, it's very close to downtown too so it's pretty cool. This was in 2010
>The tower will be just a visitor attraction without any office space.
What's the fucking point
Progress so far
Anything interesting in Chicago?
Coming from polack whose capital is basically NA larper.
They're building this in Ålesund which is going to ruin the city forever, I fucking hate the people in charge here.
Looks cool. What city?
funiculars are /comfy/
one
300m in toronto
in my town they are doing something similar, the redevelopment is about old station for rail freight, abandoned nowdays since factories have moved away
Nice thread OP
I didn't know there was another yimby on Jow Forums
I'm more of a mid-rise guy myself.
areas are still to project tho, many conceps are under revision
Helsinki, it's a pretty big area too relatively speaking. The inner city area is located on this tight peninsula, so it's a pretty unique opportunity to expand the city so close to the center
Yimby master race

Lakeshore east, former site of the 2000 ft tall chicago spire, since it was cancelled there have been multiple proposals
This is the latest proposal but it has itself been canned. Lets hope for a megatall
Wow this is still going huh
wtf still with that? How many billions more than expected as of now?
Is Chicago still going to be worse than Toronto?
>applauding the 1% for building more giant glass monuments to itself
Future Los Angles Skyline, 2026
What do you mean?
Theres a ton of development in Chicago, especially multiple 1000ft+ towers but not on the same level NYC is on
Toronto has a mega shit ton of development but its future towers are lacking in height
With the beginning of constructions in 2008 it was estimated to cost 2.4 billion and be finished in 2012, we're now at 5.1 billion, and until completion it's expected to cost 7.3 billion. Truly ebin.
Toronto surpassed Chicago in population and economic size, also they don't have an incredible crime infestation.
Laguardia redevelopment, 2022
oh, idc about that chicago is a shithole but downtown is ok. Most of the chicago crime is from neghborhoods miles away from the city core
St Nicholas National Shrine
Bump
Shut up pussy
Absolutely disgusting. Ruining the city's skyline AND not doing a thing to help with the housing stock.
I honestly wish that the people who built/buy these apartments are beheaded.
Why the fuck are they demolishing the original one if it's so big? Why not go somewhere else where there is less to demolish?
>muh stock
kys faggot, have you ever thought that maybe they construct things to make themselves money? Not the faggot that buys a few shares and sucks on corporate titties like a little parasite?
Fuck it, send the people you're thinking of to the guillotine too. Developments like this are sucking NYC dry and add NOTHING to the city except apartments that will be empty 90% of the year because millionares like to invest in the city but not actually live there.
