Ebinland extremely. Most of the culture we consume is murican. People are constantly using english words or phrases they have learned from american television and movies, the best example probably is oh my god, makes me wanna hit the person every time. Our language has suffered a lot from the influence, the new trend is, that even existing finnish words are replaced with english ones. Other more recent things, we've adopted are halloween, it's growing bigger every year and in the couple past years I've seen even trick or treaters. Traditionally the kids collect candy on easter, but they don't seem to do that anymore. Then there is black friday, which makes me a bit angry, dunno about the us, but here it's a complete scam, they jack up the prices before so they can offer "huge discounts"
We Finns take American culture but we put our own stamp on it. For example, Americans say duh as a gender neutral word but in Finland only girls and homosexual males say daa. American and Finnish cultures will never be 1:1.
Adam Brooks
Kinda a lot since the retarded people don't think about the consequences it's going to have in our way of living and the language of course
Owen Watson
>Finns take American culture Because you don't have your own.
Justin Miller
You're mad we love American culture but hate yours
Easton Cruz
everyone under 20 has a californian twang in their voice it makes me sick
Noah Murphy
You're not a real girl
Jaxson Miller
We've adopted heavy drinking and melancholy from russians and those are like the two biggest things of our identity
Eli Lee
Melancholy and heavy drinking is in our Eastern European DNA it has nothing to do with culture
Ethan Butler
People stopped saying daa here 10 years ago
Lincoln Green
Very, our British culture is slowly fading away. Sad.
Dylan White
Good you'll be less gayish and more based
John Bailey
>being this wrong As expected from a F*nn.
Evan Watson
>implying you're not just American rednecks with British-tinged accents
Kayden Morgan
Why haven't I realized this before, you are spot on
Pretty bad but for now it's mostly contained in teenagers's slang but when they'll start replacing working people we're going to go full ANGLO'D
Andrew Hernandez
>Netherlands Neutral. Culturally we're one of the closer nations to the USA. But our own culture is still very strong.
I think American culture only fills the gaps where we have none.
Camden Edwards
That's funny. You adopted the main side effects and downsides of Russian culture without the greatness of Russian culture.
Julian Rogers
And thank God for that.
Christopher Ross
Halloween isn't really a thing here.
Black Friday is the weekend before Sinterklaas (Santa Claus) so our shops already put everything on sale then. So it's easy for them to just call it black friday as everything is on sale anyway.
Jordan Parker
Quite bad, evidenced by the amount of code switching that's going on, especially with the younger ones. There's also the whole "Foreign good; Foreign better than local" mentality since we're still mentally colonized.
Easton Watson
Here also, though some use it ironically every now and then
Lincoln Ramirez
Also, I saw a guy in college with a fucking MAGA hat. I fucking wish I was joking. I hope he's some diaspora shit and not some turbo Americanized local idiot.
>your cunt Canada >how badly is it americanized? Not much at all >american television and movies English is from England and the UK still disproportionately produces entertainment media >oh my god In use since the 14th century, the first use of the letters OMG were by Winston Churchill >halloween The holiday, costumes (guising), and door to door treats are Irish/Anglo the phrase "trick or treat" and pumpkin jack-o-lanterns are Canadian >black friday Canadian and American though the phrase is American. During Eaton's Santa Clause parade in Toronto and Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in New York department stores would use the event to promote sales and entice Christmas shoppers
Justin Taylor
Uruguay, not as much as I would like. America fuck yeah.
Blake Gomez
>Not much at all Canadian culture is almost 1:1 to American what are you on about? Unsurprising being that 90% of Canadians live near the american border so it would be difficult for our culture to not influence yours.
Caleb Jenkins
All part of the master plan for world domination
Jaxson Rivera
Sweden Extremely americanized Everything on tv is american media Besides metal, almost all music is american Sweden hosts the worlds largest american car meet every year "Power Big Meet" >our largest subculture is based around the 50's greasers in america and old american cars are extremely common
Some summer nights my town feel like I've been transported to a small town in the US. Nothing but old muscle cars, rock'n'roll, pompadours and leather jackets
Austin Rivera
Not Americanized buy Califonianized and New Yorked.
Most of you have Californian mobile phones. watch Californian movies/tv, listen to Californian music and watch Californian porn.
You should be grateful to us - what has Finland ever done for you?
Is it just about the cars for them? Here they also dress like americans in the 50's
Easton Cooper
I had a Nokia when I was growing up so there's that.
Jayden Jones
90% of Canadians live within 100km of our southern border. We aren't influenced by your deep culture at all though you are increasingly becoming more like us and the rest of the west. Shallow culture wise you are at least as influenced by us as we are by you, which is something considering the population difference.
Andrew Gutierrez
Probably, it says that because Japan is influenced by the U.S so much the country is turning into a cucked country like UK.
>Brits already do lel We absolutely do fucking not m8
Thomas Turner
I can't think of single aspect of "canadian culture" that has impacted american culture and I've only lived in states that border canada. Please provide some examples, because I can think of many ways that american culture has trickled into canada. Toronto and Vancouver could both easily pass as american cities.
Aiden Harris
>duh What is that? You mean like if someone asks an obvious question, and you say “duh” to let them know the answer is obvious “yes”
Is that what you are talking about? Pretty sure we just took that from the Ruskis
Connor Foster
completely americanized, we've destroyed and disposed of our own culture and taken the most insane leftist ideas of US and only pretend church is powerful when we've been SJW nigger loving commie libtards since the 90's and don't differ from america so little we could be a state or province and would be impossible to tell from americans other than some funny accents
Lucas Lee
where are these houses that have a view of downtown la located?
Blake Howard
>the most insane leftist ideas of US Forgot about this, here the extreme leftists copy EVERYTHING from the US, it is just absolutely hilarious
Joseph Jenkins
Based, cant wait for sweden to be nothing but a faint memory in 20 years.
Landon Fisher
We aren't going anywhere. We have been like this for over 50 years.
Jaxson Wright
you have the plastic paddy craze in new england as an export. take some pride.
You just don't know what culture is, at least not deep and meaningful culture, we are very different in that regard . But, if we're just talking about meaningless shallow culture, the top grossing box office films in America were both written, directed, and produced by a Canadian, all 4 of your "big 4" sports are Canadian/British, several of the holidays you celebrate are Canadian/European in origin like halloween, labour day, or thanksginving. You also think that since something exists in America it is American. The home styles or infrastructure models here are as Canadian as they are American, they exist because that's what works best for North America's size and layout. Same with the accent, it has been part of Canada for as long as it has been part of America. These aren't American things, they are North American things. You call it your border, ignoring that on almost all cases Canadians were there first. You don't ever think about Canada so you instinctively think everything in North America is American. You are not the only one, Euros fo it too. Anything new they see in an Ametican movie they automatically think of as American.
Connor Kelly
yea right kek keep dreaming abdullah, your sister will choke on infidel cock
Zachary Peterson
>another german with gay fantasies about sucking cock
I'm not surprised..
Christian Sullivan
Okay, we get it there's nothing American about your culture as you've said it a gazillion million times before
>You don't ever think about Canada so you instinctively think everything in North America is American. You are not the only one, Euros fo it too.
This is true, same goes for all Canadian brands, everyone here thinks they are American. I feel a bit bad for you because of this
Samuel Adams
Halloween isn't exactly American. Finns and Irish were the last ones to celebrate it. We called it 'Kekri' and the Irish called it 'Samhain', but it's the same celebration. Now it's coming back, in very commercial form but still.
Kayden Rivera
It's more or less the same here. It sucks that burgers don't really have any counterbalance in terms of soft power. >trick or treaters Thankfully we don't have them yet, would call the police if I ever saw these shits
Caleb Powell
Halloween =/= kekri, celebration of the harvest yes, but very different
Ryder Cox
That's most terrifying thing I've ever seen in my life.
Lucas Robinson
Lol no, it's exactly the same celebration. People from two or three hundred years back most definitely would consider some things odd but they would understand it too. The differences are of the same scale as Easter celebrations for example in Finland and Italy in this day and age. These are very old ideas, and more widespread too than you seem to understand.
Aaron Edwards
You sound mad bro. Just accept that canada is america's lil brother or whatever. Except for quebec, they are actually unique.
