That's only on average however. You may have more or less IBD than expected with a grandparent, great grandparent, etc. owing to Mendel's second law.

I can't remember all my great grandparents' occupations off the top of my head, I only know that one of them was a carpenter, another was a cabinet maker and another was a chemical plant operator.

My grandparents were a lab chemist, a teacher (learnt bookbinding at first), an draftsman/engineer and a librarian.

And my parents are an office clerk (was an aircraft mechanic at first) and a kindergarten teacher.

But all them survive USSR and were rich by soviet standards most working on military plants and my granddad as long way electric train driver. And today my family is rich, It was rich during imperial time, during soviet regime and it rich now, Feels good to have based ancestors.

That's pretty normal. Regime changes don't affect social persistence/social mobility that much in the long term, although they can have large effects in the interval of a generation.
