It's super reliable, cheap to fix if something do fails, extremely roomy and very comfortable. Also fun to drift in the snow.

No, but I guess I was one when I was younger.
Now I just appreciate the sturdiness of old Volvo's. And yes I have fixed the rust on it since the picture was taken. I literally had water spraying my legs from the road before kek.

Why do people spend so much money on cars? If it's not a Ferrari or something to show off. These days all the cars even look the same

Cheap car doesn't necessary mean a rubbish car or an expensive car a good one.

Volvos are impossible to kill. 240's get pretty rusty, but everything works always, I have some friends that are somewhat finnish equivalents of volvoraggare, they have and have had basically all rwd models from 100 -series to V90 and they don't treat them very well, yet still they just work. Some problems with 960's and V90's tho

Saab 9000 Aero. 340 glorious horses, straight pipes and tons of torque steer because I like getting my workout when driving.

Attached: DCIM2018.jpg (3258x1299, 660K)

Yep, the 940 and 740 is extremely common here and I have owned both models my self.
Good old cars.
Nice, don't see them too often any more.

Based SAAB, we made all the nice models for you
Sucks to be finnish, pic related. Not any 2013 models for sale, but you get the idea

'99 Mazda 323F BA. Great vehicle, she has never let me down. Driving it is a pleasure and it hugs the road like glued. Sadly I have 1.4 engine. There was 2.0 version which is a beast.

It rusts badly now and squeals, as all plastic and gum elements have warped with age. Still, it is 20 years old car, it gets to 180 km/h and in the last 700 km travel I made it used 6.6 liters of benzine per 100 km.

I am fucking proud of Japanese engineering.

Attached: _20190111_224615.jpg (644x385, 72K)

Would it be easy to find a 9 series manual gearbox for a 5/6 cylinder white block in Sweden? I have been looking for years in the UK with no success

good car and selling cheap because of the mazda rust reputation

They really are extremely rusty, many other cars had the same problems in the 90's, but mazda is the only one that hasn't got any better

Any scrapyard/spare parts seller with have mountains of them. Almost every single Volvo sold here up until 2010 was manual.
You get the M47 and M90 5 speeds for practically free. The 4 speed+overdrive m46 is a bit more rare and expensive (but not by much).
When my old 940 got a turbo and other fun things the original tranny blew pretty quick. Bought an M90 for 600 SEK (like 60 Euro) from my local scrapyard with the original clutch and bushings.

Why so pricey Finland?

Attached: Screenshot_20190111-215950_Auto Trader.jpg (1080x1646, 733K)

Sounds like I need a road trip. I could sell working M90 boxes with the flywheel etc... for about €400-500 each here.

Car owners are the ones paying for everything here. Taxes on new cars are really high and that of course also shows in the prices of used cars. And yet still they are complaining, that finns drive too old cars

Norway
2013 Volvo V40
Budget reasons. Insurance is not too high, fuel cost reasonably low. I have to drive a lot in my job and use my own vehicle for that, so it's smart to have one that's not too expensive to have on the road but I didn't want a really old one that will just break down on me either.

Attached: v40.png (1146x841, 1.85M)

What about a 1031 rear axle for 240? With working diff lock

Friend of mine actually sold older Volvo parts around Germany, made quite a good profit. I don't think their prices are as high as yours nor are the parts as hard to find but still, our own prices are considerably lower.

They fixed the issue a while ago. It sticks to them like shit to a blanket.

The 1030, 1031, 1041 axles are usually easy to find. The 1031 is the more popular one but still, every scrap yard will have a couple (or 15) lying around.
My brother says the prices usually range between 50-120 euro.

Reason I could sell them is for swapping Focus ST engines into 60s-90s rear wheel drive shells. Focus uses 2.5 turbo Volvo engine and they are very easy and cheap to find and easy to tune

Used cars in the uk are almost free

Wow, I think maybe I should take my van and come there to get like 50 of them, this side of the border the ones with diff lock are really rare and you get at least 250€ from one, maybe even 500€ if it's in a good condition

I don't have a car and I don't know how to drive.
My gf drive this.

Attached: Skoda.jpg (1024x829, 223K)

Dude, I'm all for it. Those ST engines sound batshit crazy when tuned. Here people use the T5 850 (850R) engines for their projects.

Weak

Not really. Ive seen a lot of cars rust. My friend has a 5 years younger skoda that has a giant rusty hole in it, you could actually pass through the hole into the car if you wanted.

Yes, My 20 years old 323f rusts a lot, but if you care about your car and fight perfidious oxygen it will live for a long time. All the important parts do not rust, and engine block has not even a dot on it.

I have hit a speed bump 60 km/h few months ago. Nothing happened, She took it like a champ and passed a routine yearly check a few weeks back without problems. If a car would be rusted through, it would break in half. My grandfather once hit a speedbump with and old fiat at something around 80 and tore whole rear axle off.

People often overreact. But hey, if that makes a car cheaper to buy, thats fine by me.

My friend has a 350bhp ST, it sounds pretty fruity. Think he has a thing about 5 cylinder engines as he's had a Golf V5 as well

>Golf V5
My friend uses one of those as an ice racing car.
Sound like a tiny Lambo with straight pipes on it.

Have you actually been there? I've gone every year since 2011 and I can admit, that it was really white trash still about 2 years ago, because they have always had pretty good artists playing there and the tickets used to be almost free (plus you can drink your own alcohol) so it was flooded with local scum who wanted just to drink and didn't give a fuck about the cars. Now they made the tickets really expensive if you are not a member of btcf (free for foreign people tho) and it got like 100 times better. And yes, it is still white trash if you ask someone who doesn't care about bmw, but not more than any other car related event
