it's not kyc more like a voluntary linking with proof of your identity. and its up to the dapp creator to decide whether or not you can use their dapp without it. just to throw out an example you might try sending your tokens to an exchange and it gets rejected because you didnt have an identity linked to it.
i have to admit i find it hilarious (and also saw it coming miles away) that exchanges are also running as bp's. might as well get b1 in on it too at this point.
i have mixed feelings about it because on the one hand we get access to their resources for scaling as well ensuring that it'll moon eventually, but at the same time... like do we really want to see the world being run by like, bitfinex and huobi and shit? it's like something straight out of william gibson.
