Go check out "Common Sense", Thomas Paine argued against the nobility and for the republic even in the hypothetical instance where the British gave the colonies representation in parliament. Unsurprisingly he also defended the French revolution against Burke.
In fact, in its earliest stages the American war of independence was more explicitly republican than the French revolution.
