Nonfiction.
My Dad never read fiction when I was growing up, so I was never really exposed to it as a kid except for at school.

Non-fiction, more specifically history books
Roman Republic/Empire, Classical Greece, Napoleonic Era, French Revolution, WW1, WW2, Cold War, etc. is 100 times more fascinating than any fiction book I've read.
